I really wanted the rosewood trim on the inside but it is not available with the sport package. Hopefully the aluminum trim looks good in person.
Shane, when I got my '05, I was surprised how much I liked the aluminum trim, it's a nice element of the interior IMO, I know, the '07 has more expansive use of it, but I think you'll like it!

One thing I'm worried about is the sport suspension being a bit too stiff. In all reality, I'm not going to be often carving up the twisties or ever taking my car to the track. I want something that will give a decent ride on the terrible, pot hole strewn roads in Michigan, but feel good taking some curves or exit ramps at high speeds. I don't need/want Lexus or Buick float, just don't want my teeth to rattle over the bumpy roads. So... my question is, how is the real world, everyday handling and feel of the non sports suspension comare to the sports models?

I've driven a 330i sport, and it really handled the nasty roads without being too jarring. I was impressed by that ride. Taut, responsive, and an acceptable everyday ride.

Yeah, I am sure I will like the aluminum Tom......but I'd still prefer rosewood.
Oh well, no biggie.

when i test drove an '05 sport, the suspension was firm, but not too bad. not quite as nice as the sport on 330i though. the non-sport g35 i drove right after was much more smooth over bumps but some mild body lean was evident on some tight turns.

i was acutally leaning towards the '07 sport since i like the larger wheels, but after reading the edmunds comment on the suspension being too firm i will probably go with the non-sport since i don't want my teeth to rattle.

Finally registered here. I've been following the forums for the past few months in anticipation of the 07 sedan, and as it gets closer I'm pretty sure it's what I want to get. Especially after watching the Edmunds video...

mikepro, I'm in the same situation as you. I reread the Edmunds review, and perhaps the best option is to get the Sport without the active steering option (it does seem to be just an option on the Sport models). Edmunds says that the suspension is stiffened further when you get it. And without the active steering option, you also don't have to worry about the steering problems they mentioned when changing speeds too quickly. The steering and handling are hopefully fine without it. What do you all think?

Hmm.. Keep reading the review again, and I guess their handling issue is actually with the steering assist, not the active steer. Decisions, decisions...

I have one of the very early first shipment 03 sedans - coulnt wait for the sport to arrive and after driving the sport was not convinced the handling difference was worth it. After 40k miles I got a set of "bigger better" tires (Mich sport as 225) and the car was totally transformed for the better. Will have to drive the new sport setup(s) to see. I hear the M45 active rear steering makes it a really solid cornering car, but the larger better tires on the regular sport will likely get it most of the way there, and $1200 could buy a perfect lowering/setup for the track inclined.

I'll be getting one of the following as a gift from my parents this fall.

- 2007 Infiniti G35x ( Fully Loaded )
- 2007 Lexus GS 350 AWD ( Fully Loaded )
- 2007 Acura TL Type-S ( Fully Loaded )
- 2007 Acura MDX ( Fully Loaded )

Deciding between the above choices is going to be tough.

I currently drive a 2005 Acura TL 5AT w/ Navigation so the 2007 Acura TL Type-S is at the bottom of my list because it's basically the same vehicle.

I did see that as well, although it's subjective what a "Hard" ride is, I know that the current sport offering can be punishing at times, and it makes me wonder if I should fore-go the active-steering option and change my order.

I am somewhat surprised to see almost the same amount of people interested in getting the 5AT as the 6MT. I guess I am not alone.

If you want sport, you have to go with the G35. If you want comfort, go with the Lexus, and if you want space, go with the MDX. The TL is FWD which is a killer for me.
