If this gets any worse I'm gonna have the fever as bad as Shane
.
But you Ian, your ride is set up soooo sweet, it's a beautiful car. They keep waving that apple in front of us and it keeps getting redder and sweeter . So tempting.

One of the first things taught at most driver training courses is to maintain hand positions at 9--&--3
The paddles should definitely move with the wheel.
Guess I'll just have to go back to a MT after all

Another change was the loss of the G's reclining rear seat, which was unique to the class. (We're told it was dumped for weight savings.)
African Rosewood trim is optional on non-Sport models.
You do NOT want the paddles to move with the wheel. On a Ferrari the paddles are fixed on the column. Think about it: when you turn the wheel, and RE-CENTER your hands at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, you will have NO idea where the "centerline" of the wheel is. But, if the paddles do not move with the wheel, you will always know were the paddles are: they are at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions!
The Corvette C6 drivers found out that GM does NOT know better than Ferrari. On the C6 A6 with paddle shifters, once you've entered the turn, you can't find were the damn paddles are! And, yes, the GM paddles move with the wheel.
Side note: at Spring Moutain racetrack near Las Vegas (a Corvette driving school), drivers who were not "experts" were able to post quicker lap times with the A6 paddle shifters than with the MN6 stick shift.
Apparently, Infiniti did their research on paddle shifters, and did NOT listen to BMW!

I used to hate the first gen G35 sedan's for their not so sexy styling (like the coupe's). After watching this review and video, I swear to god this thing is beautiful. Infiniti reworked the car and I know for sure this car will be an even greater seller. Canuck, you are one lucky bastard, lol. After seeing the new sedan, I cant imagine how the new coupe will be... 2008 G coupe, its time to start saving the pennies!
Good sh*t Infiniti and Nissan, KILL THOSE GERMANS!

One more thing. After having read Insideline for over a year, I believe that their reviews are often leaning towards the "overly-optomistic" side. Though I do feel they are generally unbiased, and offer a very complete approach to the vehicles they review, they someties post rave reviews about questionable cars (i.e. Jeep Commander). I am always very pleased with their video reviews, however, and am glad they placed the G35 in such a positive light =)
G35 Quiter than ES350 at highway cruise !?!?!?!? =O
While browsing through Edmund/Insideline's recent reviews I came to notice that the G35 is suposedly significantly quieter than the ES350 at a 70 mph cruise! The G is louder under WOT, of course...but that's what we want, right?
07 ES350:
Db @ Idle: 41
Db @ Full Throttle: 74.6
Db @ 70 mph Cruise: 67.5
07 G35:
Db @ Idle: 42.7
Db @ Full Throttle: 80.9
Db @ 70 mph Cruise: 63.4
Inifiniti must have payed a great deal of attention to the interior sound tuning. Hopefully they'll also be able to target and eliminate all rattles early on, too.

If that's the performance on the 07 G35 Sedan, it's hard to imagine what Infiniti has planned for us in the year 2008 with a G37 Coupe.
Either way I still believe the new VQ35HR is currently being used in a semi-detuned state like all 1st year new Nissan engines. This motor should be capable of at least 320hp given the increased in airflow, reduction of back pressure, and heck - the rise in redline alone should have account for much more than a measly 25/8 hp bump.
I am going to throw out a wild guess. The G37 Coupe will probably debut with a 3.7L VQ37HR with a 335hp motor. (just under the 340hp of VK45 engine for publicity purposes) Now that puppy will probably be another .3-.4 secods faster than the 07 sedan.
