BMW is all about driving, really. If we could pay what a G35 costs, and then have our choice of one of the three cars, I'd be highly surprised if 100% didn't take a BMW. The question is can we afford a BMW? If yes, do we want to spend that much more for it? When someone suggests leasing a G35, it makes me wonder.

I personally was one of those who thought the new BMW 7 is rather ugly. But ask me how I felt behind the wheel of a 745i with sport package. I mashed my foot to the floor and had the sensation of being thrown back in my seat--and this one was only 325 hp, not one of the newer 750 8 cyls.

I really can't tell from the pics. But I like the Lexus steering wheel and I've been in the E90 with and without i-Drive. It's much better looking with the latter imho. Experiencing any one of these vehicles in-person is key!

sorry.. i guess the is350 did set a level where the G35 has to go to... touchscreen navigation lcd with backup camera and bluetooth.. previous generation didn't have these until the IS350 set the bar...

I'll tell you what, if BMW offered even *half* the options they have in Europe over here it'd be a lot different. High Gloss Shadow Black Ebony Macassar wood, standard carbon fiber trim, Merino leather (not crummy Dakota), anthracite headliner, alcantra inserts. Don't ask me why they don't bring BMW individual over!

Anyone know if the perforated leather is standard or only available on the Sport models? I'd like to get it on the G35x model.

And the G35 has all of it for thousands less. Of course the last generation G35 didn't have a back-up camera, nothing in the class did back in 2002. (And you're wrong, the previous generation introduced bluetooth in the 2006 model before the IS was released).
