That the 2007 G35 is not available at VPP pricing at this time. I guess I'm not surprised that it is not initially available, but I would hope that it would added soon. Anyone have any experience with typically how long after a new Nissan/Infiniti model introduction, it is available through the VPP program?

Kind of a bummer, as that's how I want to buy mine.

 

I bought my 2004.5 G35 Coupe via VPP. I don't believe the 03 coupes were on VPP, so I'd guess about a year later it'll be VPP.

I guess we don't have the VPP in Canada. What exactly does the VPP give you? Discount pricing I assume.

For employees of NNA and Affiliate-companies and their immediate family members, the VPP price is calculated as follows:

* Dealer invoice
* Minus VPP discount (Nissan 4.3% : Infiniti 3.58%)
* Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.
* Plus destination and handling charge
* Minus applicable incentives
* Equals participant’s purchase price

For NNA and affiliate employee sponsored friends and extended family members, the VPP price is calculated as follows:

* Dealer invoice
* Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
* Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.
* Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
* Plus destination and handling charge
* Minus applicable incentives
* Equals participant's purchase price

Does that mean 2.5% of the ~33k will be a "delivery fee"? So a delivery fee of $800? Doesn't that wipe out the discount from the VPP discount (since it is only 1.5%)?

For suppliers, you get the car a couple of hundred bucks over dealer invoice. Employees would get it below invoice. Using numbers from '06 as an example, a 6MT + Premium + Nav has an MSRP of $36880. Invoice is $33753. VPP supplier price would be about $34026 ($273 over invoice, $2854 below sticker price), VPP employee price would be $32545, ($1208 below invoice). This is before any other incentives. So, it's a pretty good deal, and the best hing about it is no haggling or hassle.

 

since there is no VPP, what's the best route to go now???? are we expecting to pay full msrp?

Just wait 3-6 months and VPP will be available. Otherwise, just negotiate the dealers against each other and you'll shave $1-2K off the sticker and that'll be pretty close to VPP anyway.

You know the drill ... if you want significant savings, you've got to wait a few months for the initial "rush" to subside

 

i paid vpp for an '03 sedan with premium package back in may '02, only several weeks after they had released it. i guess they are playing smarter now...

 

My wife worked for a large accounting firm that had VPP on Nissan/Infiniti vehicles. I purchased my 2004 6MT that way. She doesn't work there anymore. Does anyone know how a company becomes eligible for the VPP program? As far as I know, her company wasn't a "supplier" as was mentioned in the previous email.

 

Last time I checked, anyone who worked for one of the Big 4 accounting firms is eligible for VPP. They are a supplier in the sense that they do audit and tax work for Nissan/Infiniti. A lot of consulting firms (BCG, Bain, etc) have the same deal...you really do get hooked up on discounts if you work for a Fortune 100 (or similar) company.

Your company's HR dept has to fill out paperwork to get the discount for the company.
