Dealer is pushing thier package which actually does not sound bad (given ther is no road hazard warranty that comes with car). Package is $499 for 5 yrs/100,000 on all tires/rims ( incl snow tires) - zero deductible - re coverage for road hazards, damaged rims, etc. Coverage is North America - I think intent is you just get to any Infiniti Dealer ( via free Infiniti RoadSide Assistance) and present your warranty.

 

i got the warranty but haven't had to file a claim yet. thought i did when i busted a u turn in a narrow street and the car rolled forward while i was letting out the clutch to back up and straighten out. only put two tiny dots on the rim from the curb. and i can live with that.

 

IMHO...I personally think it is all a money grab, just like extended car warranties, electronic rust control, paint protection etc.
Instead I would use that money towards clear-bra, tint, winter rims and tires etc..

 

These days, I think rust control is a money grab, since the newer cars have such long warranties against corrosion, you're right Wayne!

 

Agree completely re rust control and most extended warranties.....but something like road hazard on up to 6 tires over 100,000 km could be considered something a bit different..these things happen and with pricier tires and pricey rims and no tire warranty (other than defects), well it may make sense. Then again I have been real lucky in my own car - dont recall having a flat in ages, but I only drive about 15k a year...somehow I think I'll be taking more trips with the new car!

 

Does the warranty from Infiniti cover road rash? Long story short, I'm a dumb *** and took a turn to wide to try to avoid hitting my rear passanger tire on a curb and hit my front drivers side instead. I bought the warranty, but can't find my paperwork on it.

 

I highly doubt that the warranty covers curb rash. I am sure it covers things like corrosion and such, but anything that is your own fault you are probably SOL. I curb rashed one of my wheels last year, so I know how it feels.

 

Thanks. I am still trying to find the warranty packet I got, but you are probably right. I still can't believe I did this. I have had low profile tires for about 7 years and I have never rashed a wheel.
