Looks fine to me... kinda flows with the wheel well... something different I guess.. car designs will never be perfect to everyone unless you build it youself or.. change the body line yourself over all I think it's a good design.

I agree. There is not a car design out there that will appeal to every single person.

The "line" doesn't botter me. I'll have to see it in person but I think it add some character to the car. It is very hard to judge a car style based on few 2D photos only.

Agreed - at least it has something to break-up the slab-sides of today's G, but this approach was already done by the Mercury Cougar. Again, if the lines are seamlessly transferred across body-panels, it should look decent.

we are just used to the old lines.. and in most cases new design feature are like "what a ****??" the same goes with bmw new 7 and 5 series... when many years ago I saw new 7 series bmw rear end I was like "what the hell is that??" ...

give the new G its time and I am sure you`ll love it

At least with the new G, I'm still drooling. With the 7 series, I sometimes still look at the rear end and ask myself, "What the hell is that??"

The new Coupe better not have that same downward curved line at the rear like the Sedan. Does remind me of a Mercury Cougar, and gives the rear end a droopy feel. Remember the Infiniti J30? Those had the droopiest rear ends ever!

The curved line just makes the rear end look "jacked up" for some reason.

I think it would have looked a lot better if they had left it straight like
this pic I photoshopped

I think the curve is designed to stop the rear from looking jacked up. It takes your eye away from the tall trunk line and directs it down to the smooth rear bumper.

i think that the most "new" vehicle would usually look the hottest with it being "new". for example last year it was lexus's IS and i have to admit i was drooling for it but with my lease not being up until next year i couldnt pull the trigger. now with the new G sedan coming out i think it looks so much better than last year's IS. all depending on personal taste also

I'm not feelin the hood, I prefer darker color so you can't see that funny looking line. The rearend I have no problem with. Overall car profile looks like a bigger version of 330 sedan with much cooling tailight. Me like alot.

When I first saw pix's of the new '07, that's the first thing I noticed - the downturn line in the rear. My first impression was that it corresponds with the FX lines and all the ads that are being run on tv and magazines. You know the silhoutte with the laser beam that shows the shape? The '07 G35 is just making the whole line correspond to the branding. Just a thought...
