I just joined, and I'm new to Infiniti/Nissan. I've always been an Acura/Honda fan (I currently drive an '04 TL), but I am very interested in getting the new G35 sedan. Just want to see if anyone can answer these questions:
1.) The TL has a black carpet-like material covering the rear wheel wells for noise reduction...does the new G35 sedan have this?
2.) I've heard that the VQ engines are not as smooth as the ones in a Honda/Acura. Can anyone who has driven the new G sedan compare the engine smoothness/roughness to that of a TL's?
3.) I can't really tell from the interior picture, but is the hump in the back seat floor very high like that in the IS350?
4.) Are the fog lights integrated into the headlight housing?
Thanks!

1) Don't know details of how they did it, but all reviews indicate that the new G is extremely quiet inside. Shouldn't be a problem/
2) Hardly anoyone has driven it yest, as only test models are out. Again, all reviews seem to indicate pretty smoothe performance.
3) No, the rear seats are actually usable, unlike the IS350
4) Yes.

I fit 3 full size adults in my current sedan without any problem. Me being 6'1" actually enjoy seating in the back when one of my friends is driving my car. So i dont they changed anything major as far as back interior seating space.

Just to give you an idea of the size differences.
The TL gives you 34.9 inches of rear leg room, while the 07 G gives you 34.7 inches
The TL gives you 37.2 inches of rear headroom, while the 07 G gives you 37.2 inches.
The TL is rated at 68 dBA at 70mph, while the new G has been tested at 67 dBA at 70mph.
So it looks like the new G has virtually the same rear interior space as the TL and is a wee bit quieter. It doesn't look like you have anything to worry about.

Why not get the 2007 Acura TL Type-S, Acura's poor excuse for a midsize sports / entry-level luxury sedan?
I can't wait to get rid of my POS 2005 Acura TL with navigation. Bring on the 2007 Infiniti G35x AWD ... Or the 2007 Lexus GS 350 AWD ... Or the 2007 Acura MDX!

Hey hey...the TL is not a POS. I still love mine's and it's an '04. It's just that I'd like to get a rwd sports sedan for my next car. The TL is IMO the best-handling fwd sports sedan out there, and it has a sweet interior.
