I just don't like this down curve at the rear on the crease down the side.
The curved line just makes the rear end look "jacked up" for some reason.

I think it would have looked a lot better if they had left it straight like
this pic I photoshopped

Wow, that's a good eye you have there. I agree, that looks better in your PS. The cars lines flow better with that crease straight.

I'm not that keen on the new sedan. Maybe it will grow on me. Looked sportier to me before. This new one looks too rounded, less sporty. Can't be too critical at this stage, have to wait til I see it in person.

I agree, that line is a bit odd...It seems fairly understated and I bet on certain colors it's more noticeable than on others (probablyt why some have not even noticed it)...I think keeping the line straight, going with the rising belt line and running it to near the corner of the tail light would have been the simple, better looking answer...Overall, though, I think the car looks sweet and I can't wait to get my hands on one...In reality, all Infiniti had to do was redesign the interior and make it with better materials and cut out the rattles and they would have had all they needed (oh, and up the engine output to the 306HP)...Nice work!

It almost looks like it got hit on the modded one. Extend that line to the tailights and we will be in buissness

re. griffey222

I'm about 98% decided that I'm going to trade my 2003.5 G35 Sedan in on a new 2007 G35 soon as they hit the lot. Yes there's things I don't like with the styling on the new G but overall it has so much going for it that I do like.
I really like the new interior, the new engine sounds like it's really strong, the stereo sounds like it's going to rock. I don't like the sport front bumper and the fact you can't get the rosewood trim with the sport so I'll probably end up going with the non-sport. This down curve in the side line at the rear end is fugly but overall, I think the new G is much better looking than the new 3 series Bangle'd bimmer.

For all those people who think it's hard to tell the difference between the '07 and '06 models, straightening your line would just make it worse. I kind of like the straighter line, but I haven't seen the new body style in person so it's really a little premature to be discussing it.

That line caught my attention when I first saw a pic of the 07. I didn't really like it but it is fairly subtle. IMO, it's an upscale touch to look German like the Bangle trunk. It reminds me of the Merc S class:

The last thing we need the G35 to look like is a Scion.

LOL I hear ya. Then there's Nissna's own Altima:

There has to be a reason for the downward curve...

Tell me about it - looks like a Mercury Cougar Rip-off. I prefer the sharp crease of the BMW 3. Let's hope at least Infiniti can line up the panels properly so the line holds true. The downward curve is to emphasize the RWD nature of the car.
