2007 BMW 328i (#1) v
2008 Infiniti G35 Sport (#2) v
2008 Cadillac CTS DI (#3) v
2008 Mercedes-Benz C300 Sport (#4)
I wonder how it would look for a comparison for all slushboxes. They dinged the G35S and CTS with manuals for "refinement".

Edmunds rates 2008 G35 as Best Sport Sedan in Comparsion Test!
Here's the latest Autoweek writeup, they usually don't give Japanese autos the cred thatthey deserve (compared to the German makes) so this is all the more impressive IMO

Interesting that they compared it to the Volvo S80. I wouldn't think those two card would typically be in the same list at all. The S80 is bigger, and much more of a luxo cruiser than a sports sedan. But overall, I thought it was a good review.

A new (I think) CNET review of G35 Journey
Here's our weekly roundup of the new products CNET reviewers liked best.
1. 2008 Infiniti G35 Journey
Editors' rating: 8.4
The good: The 2008 Infiniti G35 offers a variety of digital music options, such as internal hard drive, iPod integration, and CompactFlash. Its hard-drive-based navigation system includes live traffic and shows rich graphics. The car handles exceptionally well, with responsive and precise steering.
The bad: The interface for the internal hard-drive-based Music Box feature doesn't make it easy to find music, and the Bluetooth cell phone integration can't import contacts. The car could get better gas mileage.
The bottom line: The 2008 Infiniti G35 is comfortable in a commute and fun for sport driving, while its cabin tech options are on the leading edge, offering rich navigation, good music options, and Bluetooth cell phone integration.

Also appears to point to a "full review" that even contains a video:

And my quick review of the CNET review. It was obviously very positive, highlighting the car's performance and value. Since its a "tech" news site, they were focused on the "techie" features and they accurately discussed the strengths and weakenesses that we have discussed here (eg the way you search for albums on the Music Box). I even learned something I didn't know ("calling" for traffic updates... is that true?? If so... cool!).
You can always nit pick or even catch a few errors; I really don't think you can currently find a CTS with comparable features or performance regardless of how you "judiciously" choose options for comparable price. I also don't think you can get a MB for less (unless its is completely stripped... and who wants that?). A similar compaint with the Car & Driver comparo with the 328i, the MB and the CTS... unless I was misreading it the only car with leather was the G35. Who wants plastic seats, even good plastic?
And specific to the "techie" parts... unless I am mistaken I don't think you get BlueTooth with the CTS... you have to add that 3rd party I believe.

So I picked up my 08 G35xS on Friday and absolutely love it. I am coming from a Volvo S60R so I am used to speed. My favorite aspect of the car is the technology. Its so nice having ipod connectivity, bluetooth, keyless operation, etc... I like that the AWD system is geared to RWD because I have had some fun with it. The handling is great but I have read bad things about the sport tires and already have winter rims and tires on the way. Any fellow owners here in CO?

It feels great to be reminded once again of why we chose this car, doesn't it?
