Front License Plate?

Does anyone know how and where the front license plate will be attached on the '07? I've looked at many many pictures of the new sedan, but still haven't seen one that has a mounting bracket for the front plate. I know in my state (and I'm sure many others) a front plate is required by law.

I never put mine on, and use the factory cover for it, but I don't have any idea where on the new sedan they would put it.

Anyone have ideas? I think having it on the front bumper could drastically dimminish the good looks/lines of the front of the car.

Thanks,

Wizz

Well, at the risk of belaboring the obvious, a front lіcense plate will screw into the front bumpеr just below the grіlle and just above the lower air intakе. Given the curve of the bumpеr, it would be a nice touch if Nіssan supplied a mounting bracket for the plate. It would be an even nicer touch if the bracket matched the body paint, but it's likely to be in any color you want so long as you want black.

Yes, a front plate won't do anything for the looks of the car, but at least it won't be as bad as a front plate on a Pontіac Solstіce, which totally destroys the looks of the car. http://us.autos1.yimg.com/img.autos...._3_346x270.jpg

As always, those of us in a state/province with a front-plate requirement will have to decide whether we want to compromise the looks of our car or risk a citation. In California, anyway, it's only a "fix-it ticket."

A little off topic, but I agree 100% with DWP regarding the front license plate on the Solstice. It doesn't look bad with out it but absolute **** with one on. A severe design flaw IMO considering so many states and provinces require front plates. Sorry to go off topic.

NY requires a front plate, so I'm gonna lose a little beauty, but I guess I'm used to it. I do hope they provide a mounting plate tho.

I'm actually thinking about picking up a Euro plate here before I come home, but I'm not sure it would look any better then the US spec plates either.

Texas also requires a front plate, but I've been without one for 16 years with no tickets for that purpose. I've had a couple warnings, but there's no way I'm putting on a front plate. It's a dumb law.

In my experience, NY is a lot more strict about it. When I was working up in Buffalo, I had rented a car in the winter and so the front plate was covered in snow and I didnt clean it. I got pulled over just 'cause the cop couldnt see it under the snow and said I didnt have one. I kicked the snow off of it to let him see the plate. I told him it was a rental and I wasnt going to clean the car. He didnt give me a ticket, but told me that I must make sure the front and rear plates are visible.

+1 - forget about not running a front plate in NY.

They do provide a black plastic mounting plate and as someone already said is mounted to the front bumper after drilling two holes.

It's sad as it takes away the front look. I'm going to try some sort of custom mount going thru the bottom grill.

Here's what my dealer wrote me:

"The holes are drilled at the dealership. Our normal policy is to drill the holes and attach a license plate bracket. California DMV can assess penalties to the dealership that sold the car if there is no front license plate. We will try not to install one on your car. It is part of our check in process, but we will monitor you vehicle. As for the rest of the inventory, unless it is a pre-sold car, we will install the bracket. We will need to have you sign a release of liability so we will not get fined."

Check out Speedoholic's pic. Is that the front plate bracket in the trunk?

Yes that is the front license plate holder you see in the picture. I saw the sameone yesterday. Can we say aftermarket? We need someone to design something better.
