F it. I'll eat the $25 ticket if needed. There is no way I'm gonna ruin this sexy front with a license plate.

I have mine always with me in the cabin. If needed, I just throw it on the dash.

It is part of our check in process, but we will monitor you vehicle. As for the rest of the inventory, unless it is a pre-sold car, we will install the bracket. We will need to have you sign a release of liability so we will not get fined."
The DMV doesn't mail out the plates on a new cаr until several weeks (sometime up to two months) after the purchase, and I can assure you that no California law requires that you have an empty bracket installed when you drive off the lot. For all the dealer knows or cares, you could fill that empty bracket with a Confederate flag instead of a California plate. That bit about "we will need to have you sign a release of liability so we will not get fined" is laughable. Since California law requires a front plate, how could a customer's release affect the dealership's supposed liability for letting a car off the lot without a front plate bracket? They are BSing you. They just don't want to deviate from their SOP for you, or they want you to carry their advertising placard in the front as well as rear bracket for the next month or two.

What about this as a after market bracket? If forced to, I may consider this since it would not required two holes in the front bumper.

I will risk it as well, there no way I will drill two hole on my front bumper like that

I am in CA and I have seen so many car without license plate in front, so I can take the risk as well.

See picture but I was thinking maybe mounting something under the bumper maybe thru the grill. I don't want to drill holes in the bumper either but my state requires 2 plates.

It might, my only concern is the width of the bracket in that it might not fit thru the grill, which is plastic, without cutting the grill on the G.

theres another thread here which some 05-06 sedan owners were able to use the 24mm tow hook version with success. you have to measure your tow hook diameter first before ordering - theres a pdf at the site for that.

I am glad we don't need a front plate in NC.
