I like to control the speed of my wipers. I would hate it if the G had rain sensors. Now, if it had bad-driver sensors and the car wipes THEM away, I'm all in.

 

They worked great on my Volvo. You still have to turn them on, but instead of constantly adjusting the delay for the varying rain conditions, it does it for you. I loved that feature.

 

Hah! I remember test driving an A4 two years ago and asking the salesman whether or not A4's have rain sensing windshield wipers. He scoffed and replied, "Audi drivers know when to turn on their windshield wipers". I guess, for that matter, so do Infiniti drivers.

 

Like a previous post said, the whole and entire point of rain-sensing wipers is to adjust the wiper speed to the intensity of the rain - not to turn the wipers on or off for you. My current car has 'em, and they still have to be turned on and off manually. Otherwise they would come on in the carwash - not good. It really does work, slowing/stopping the wipers on a dry windshield but increasing the wiping to warp speed in a cloudburst - all without the constant fiddling with the wiper control.

Now, if anyone wants to talk about an answer to a question that nobody asked, I submit for your consideration Keyless Go, or whatever Nissan calls their feature that relieves you of the pain of (gasp!) taking your key out of your pocket to start the car.

 

The camera is so well hidden on my 2004 FX35, so I'm very disappointed at the placement on the new G35. The ICC sensor also ruins the symmetry of the front bumper.

Personally I like the adaptive lights ... I've seen them work on Lexus and BMW, work well I might add.

I wonder if you do get the whole package, is it possible to turn off the "I" from the ICC. Meaning, to make it a conventional CC.

I think the sensor for the ICC can be hidden somehow, or it might be hidden in the future. I too don't like the way it looks

 

Is there a photo of the 2007 G35 Sport (or non-Sport) with the ICC anywhere?

Wow ... That looks horrible. That's the ugliest implementation of the ICC sensor I've ever seen. Sigh I might have to forgo the Technology Package just because of that. But I want the RearView Monitor and the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS).

 

I was told by two diff dealerships that if you don't get the tech package, the front mesh grille should span across the entire front opening.

 

Not "should."

 

Yeah, the ICC sensor is quite distracting and mars the beauty of the front of the car. I too am hoping it doesn't look as bad in person as it does in the picture.

 

Anyone who wants the Tech Package but doesn't plan to use the ICC function could presumably remove the ICC sensor and buy the full-width mesh lower grille from the parts department. Not that I would do that - with all the electronic toys in the three packages, I would need all the help I could get with not pranging the car ahead of me. Anyway, once a mandatory front license plate goes on the bumper, the additional hit to the car's looks from the ICC sensor will be trivial by comparison.
