OK for the '06, "sport pkg" was priced at $750, which would make a 06 Sport AT $32050.
Compared to the current sport, its a $1400 increase (again not comparing std. equipment levels), about 4.4% increase.

Maybe VLSD prices have shot thru the roof

$690 destination
$2350 premium pkg
$1100 tech pkg
$2100 nav

Let me us know how it goes. I have 2003.5 that I owe 24k on. That's right about where the book is for a car in good condition with 40K mi. and I'm thinking about trading in since I wasn't successful selling it. I might have to fork over a g or two to pay it down?
Do you mind me asking how much you owe and how many miles/options you have?

That is interesting because the excellent condition book value on my 05 with Sport, Premium, and Aero packages is only $26000 and it only has 11000 miles on it. So how is it that your 03.5 is only 2g’s less? Are you sure about that book value? It sounds a bit optimistic.

Sure. How about this deal:

You pay MSRP for any car you want. (At least for the first shipment.) I think getting $500 may be doable, $1000 will be harder, at least for the short term.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. There's no way I will pay MSRP for the car. I did the math for the car I want and there's ~$3500 of wiggle room (not including dealer incentives from the factory/corporate). It'll be a matter of how badly they want the sale.

You'll have to wait a month or two before the numbers start going down. It's October ... end of year (ie after Christmas) might be a great time IF you have to have it. Otherwise, wait until the dead of winter (Jan - Feb end of either month) and they will deal. Cash is king!

That's the kicker...
They won't need a sale badly for a while.

It will be interesting how they treat repeat clients though !
Once deals start to go down, we should start a "post your deal" thread.

I think that to some extent, but I feel like it's more likely to be the case in areas where a single dealer serves a large area. In my area, I have at least 10 dealers within 30-miles of me, and each of them generally has a decent volume of cars, so I feel they would need to deal with competition (since I doubt the sales frenzy is awaiting them).
