No Power Rear-Sunshade Option? That Sucks

Every other car in the G35's class has the sunshade as an option. Any ideas on why Infiniti omitted it? That’s one strike against the 07 G35 IMO.

If a sunshade is really that important to you, maybe you should be considering cars more oriented towards luxury than sportiness.

What does having importance to me have anything to do with Infiniti not providing that option? You can get a sunshade on straight-up performance cars like the BMW M3/M5/M6 and all AMG-Benzes. Since the sunshades are available on the best performance sedans, your "more oriented towards luxury than sportiness" argument doesn't make any sense. Not to mention that the Lexus IS, BMW 3-series and MB-C-Class has the sunshade option. Infiniti is slacking on options dude, live with it

Why do you think that they will break? I've never heard of one malfunctioning and the power rear-sunshade in my BMW hasn't given me any problems in the 5-years that I've had it. I trust Infiniti to engineer a power-sunshade that doesn't break, just like I trust them to make power windows that don’t fail. It isn't rocket science.

Every other car in the G35's class is thousands more when it comes to pricing. Homerun for Infiniti.

Sweet --- you are deciding on a car based on dumb option ??

I think you would also be one of those that would pay $10k more because a car gives u rear power sunshade !

Just tint it and you get always on sunshade .....
Plus I drive my car - so I couldn't care less about what happens in the back !

I said that was "One Strike" against the G35. In reality I would only count that as a half a strike. There are still two and a half more strikes needed before I dismiss the 07 G.
While we're at it. Another half a strike for non-ventilated seats, another half strike for not being able to play Movie DVDs (like the lexus). Only a strike and a half left. Depending on which car has the least strikes, I'll make my decision then. FWIW the BMW has more strikes against it than the G35.

I don't like tint (looks ghetto IMO) not to mention the added attention from the law.

The Lexus plays movie DVDs because it has a DVD player for it's DVD-based Navigation. The G35 has a hard-drive based navigation, which is why it doesnt have a DVD player. However, they still give you an AUX input for you to play video content using a portable DVD player.

That's cool. But a rear drop down system like the "M" infinitis would have been nice.

You are missing the point here ....... there has to be a difference between the M and the G.
Given the G's reasonable price point, how can you expect all kinds of options being available (I know you will pay for it - but more options ultimately increases costs - think about it)

G has all performance/sports/tech options that a sports car buyer would look for.
IMO, rear DVD screen is not something that a sports car driver would care about -- it only adds weight to the car.

EXAMPLE: Its a critical flaw that the 3-series does not give VLSD as an option - that's reserved only for their M cars.
The G has VLSD available -- I'll take that anyday over something frivolous like DVD screen or rear shade.

The car isnt that big that it would be needed. Plus it's more of a sport sedan. The 3-series and IS both don't have that option. Even the M "Sport" versions don't offer it.

Alot of things would of been nice, but don't forget how much this car costs. There is not a car on the road that comes equipped with this much technology and performance for the price. You can't have everything you want without paying a premium.
