I agree that folding rear seats would of been nice, but it certainly didn't effect my buying decision of my 03 and 07 G35. When I purchased my 03 G35, I came from an 03 Altima that had folding rear seats. I found it convenient to have them. The overal package that G offers makes me completely forget that I don't have folding rear seats.

IMO, no matter what car you sit in (at any price) you are going to find something that you don't like. Like others have already stated, no car is perfect and none are made 100% to your want/needs.

Here are a couple of trunk pictures. It is tighter than the 2003.

Looks like plenty of room for a golf bag or three...All I need. Ha. Actually, even with the changer, it looks plenty big enough for a trip to the beach with the family?

I was able to put two of each of the cases in the old G. A new packing strategy needs to be worked out.

Went for a test drive and loved the following:

1) Felt more power.
2) Less road noise.
3) Interior lighting much better than current orange.
4) Compared to my 05 G35 Coupe, the handling was quite nice. Less bumps felt.
5) General Impression, quite good in a 10 minute drive. Will be going back to take a longer spin.

JM2C re fold down seats......
I don't see the fold down seats as an issue unless you have something loooong to carry.

If you're traveling with 2 people throw something over the leather to protect & just use the back seat.
It's really not that different, is it?
I mean.. if the seats are folded down you see all your *stuff* anyway.
Asside from long things, , am I missing something here.

^+1. Other than long items there is actually more vertical space with the seat back up than down.

Superfly, I think your dog would be much more comfortable that way than with the seat folded down. Buy something to go over it for protection.

As others have mentioned, it should be possible to remove the trunk-mounted changer and buy the non-changer trunk liner panel from the parts department. You'll still have a single-disc CD player in the head unit, which should be more than adequate if you opt for Navigation and the HDD/CF capability that comes with it. Ohhhh, please don't tell me that you need the trunk-mounted changer to load nav database updates ....

Agree, I have a Lab/Shepard cross and with my last car I tried her on the seat folded down and it was too high for a larger dog. It is much better with a thick wool blanket across the back seat for the dog. I have never had any scratches on the leather from the dog.

From my understanding the nav database updates are done via the CF slot.

I really think that the rear seat not folding down is a non-issue. I have the current TL and don't have rear seats that fold down. It hasn't been much of a problem for me. I'm sure infiniti didn't include this for a good reason. I was told that the TL didn't have it because they wanted to increase structural rigidity. I'm thinking that this is the same for the G.

My main concern however is can the trunk hold more than one golf bag. My TL barely holds 2 bags. I wish it could hold at least three but what can I do.

Has anyone tried putting golf bags in the back?
