Went to test drive one on Friday at Crown Infiniti in Birmingham, AL, but some cockblocker had already bought it at the unveiling on Thursday night! Sample, not for sale my ***! I am sure that every sales rep had ample time to rag out your sample. So, cheers to you, my 07 G35 Test Drive Cockblock. I hope you enjoy your ragged out sample.

In any case, if I'm buying it new, I'll make sure it has very low miles - else I won't get it

 

Ohhhh, the frustration of testdrivus interruptus ... but the deаlers across this great land of ours seem to be getting their initial allotments about now, so if you check back with your stealership you might be pleased. They probably sold the "sample" because they expected to get more momentarily. Stores in various parts of Cali have gotten theirs in the last few days, but the company seems to have staged the departure of their cаr carriers so that right coast stores are getting their allotments at about the same time ...

 

At our dealership in Calgary there were two Gs on display at the event, one sport and one x. The sport was already sold to one of the sales guys, and the x was designated as the test drive vehicle. Test drives started the following morning and the dealership had a sign up sheet to book the car for a half hour drive. I was luck because my dad also signed up, but decided that he wanted to buy an FX-45 instead and the guy before me didn't show up. I got one and a half hours to drive!

 

lol same thing happened to me when I went to go test drive it. me and my salesman waited for a half hour until the guy who bought it left lol then we took it out. He was like "man only an idiot would buy a common sample the same price as all the other cars that will be in when its ready!"

 

Funny how this is the 3rd person I have seen here who went to Crown Infiniti to check out the sample G35 (myself included ). Wow, I can't believe they sold the sample, I'm now hoping they will be calling me soon with a 6MT arriving on the lot for me for a test drive (that is assuming they sold the sample knowing the shipment is coming in earlier than expected.) I called last night. They have no idea when the 6mt's will be in, unfortunately.

 

Regrettably, it's likely to be "the 6MT", singular, and when it arrives it's likely to be black with black and a spoіler. Ick. Factory order for me, for sure.

 

Haha. Love the thread title. I'm looking forward to hopefully testdriving one when I take my mom's in for service in December.

Phil - they did receive the IP 6MT. It's base; only options are sunroof, splash guards and trunk mat. I test drove it last evening.

Did you notice much difference in the MT?
The synchros are suposedly upgraded... you notice any difference?

 

I drove their 6MT last Saturday. I noticed tons of vibration in the stick, and was playing nice and staying below 4,500 rpms! The throw was still nice and short. The clutch takeup seemed a little more normal (more travel to the floor) than previous models.
