Not so sure. There are guidlines on the screen that show the position the wheels will take as you progress backwards. Keep the lines off the curb and you don't scratch the rims.

I agree...
The one time I tried it, it does show more than just the slot for the car.
It should help getting you on the right angle as you go back.

The other thing I was wondering...
Does the rear view backup system warn you as you get close to an object?

If I recall correctly from Trey's video, it beeps as you get close to an object.

That would be great, especially in the coupe where you can't see the car behind you.

Yes it does beep. Also the view provides a fairly wide angle that gives visual feedback on how straight you are backing up - ie. curb, parking spot lines etc.
