This new color of blue is very much like a darker version of the Lakeshore Slate IMO. Very nice.

Quote: Nope.
That's odd because all of Infiniti's pkg descriptions seem to indicate otherwise .....

Maybe I can sue 'em after I get my car

The MT has a lower profil lid to make shifting better. (elbow room)
= no HVAC vents.

Quote: Gongratz Goofy.... beautiful.

I'd love to hear more about the 6MT once it's broken in a little.
Synchros are suposed to be improved....

Also how does the clutch compare?
- pedal effort changed +- ??
- Is the engagement still up high?
- any change to linearity of engagement (grabby/smooth)

LOL... sorry for all the ??
I'm anxious to try the MT myself
1) My only stick shift is my current Mazda6 (selling this weekend), and I really don't know much about how things work. Here's what I can tell you: The clutch pedal effort is not too difficult, i.e., the pedal doesn't go that deep. It also isn't as shallow as some of the sportier cars like the RX8. At the same time, the shift throws didn't seem that short, too, but shorter than your average sedan.

What's the engagement? The shifting itself is a bit sticky as I've said before, but once you throw the shifter, it really locks into place. I also love the forgiving "sweet spot." On my Mazda6, I had to really lift the pedal half way from the floor just at the right spot because I press on the throttle. If you're even a little bit off, you feel the jolts. With the G35, it's smooth like Hondas. I think I stalled it several times already (somehow, the car knows to restart the engine???), because I lifted the clutch off the floor too much. But even if you don't hit that sweet spot, the car still travels smoothly and gracefully, if I may add.

I'm sorry for my general babble talk, since i don't know manual transmission terminology too well.

2) Yes, the ambient lights stay on as long as your parking/headlights are turned on. I hope there's an on-off switch somewhere, or on the LCD. It's not obtrusive at all at night. What kept getting my attention was, ironically, the "ON" LED on the push-button ignition! It's fairly bright, and when you turn your steering wheel just enough, you see the yellow/orange pop in your sight.

3) Nope, no rear AC vents! I was shocked! It's bad enough the middle console glove is practically unusable. If you need more space, you can remove the cup holder plastic tray that sits under the armrest (where the RCA inputs are).

Two of the Nissаn PDF documents that were linked from this forum before the release (one called "Infiniti G Sedan Specs" and the other called "G Sedаn Vehicle Ordering Guide") say that the Journey model includes "Rear Air Conditioning Vents" as standard equipment. The description of the Sport model says that it "Includes all G35 Journey standard equipment." The description of the G35 Sport MT says that "Includes all G35 Sport standard equipment." No exceptions are stated, apart from AT paddle shifters and the handbrаke. It would follow from this that the G35 Sport MT includes rear аir conditioning vents as standard equipment, when clearly it does not. I don't know that a Sport MT buyer would have a claim against Nissаn for the omission, at least where they had a chance to inspect their car prior to closing the deal. Still, it's bothersome that Nissаn would let a misrepresentation as to standard equipment make its way into their promotional materials.

This is not to take away from Goofy's very justified pleasure in his new cаr. The lack of rear vents would not be a big deal for me, in truth, because we very seldom have rear seat passengers.

I would assume that the car still has vents under the driver and front passenger seats like most cars do.

Likely... but heat only.
That's the way the 1st gen is.

A/C through the center console.
Heat under the seats.
