Drive-by-wire?

Does anyone know if the '07 is a drive-by-wire setup?

Do you mean steеring without a direct mechanical connection between the steеring whеel and the front whеels? Don't think so. The specifications for the new G35 describe the steеring as "Power-assisted, vehicle-speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion", which reads to me like a direct mechanical connection. The only stеer-by-wire passenger cаrs I'm aware of are prototypes on display at аuto shows, not on the road. Don't know about the brakеs or throttlе, but I would assume that they are of the traditional hydralic/mechanical type.

I think the OP is specifically asking about the throttle.

Yup sorry -- I posted too soon

I think even the prior MY Gs had a drive-by-wire throttle.

In that case, I stand semi-corrected:

(Fifth section, sixth paragraph of the article)

Yes, I was referring to the throttle. I figured as much since it has VDC.

My TL has drive-by-wire thus enabling it to have VSC.

Drive by wire enables the ECU to cut power.
