Anyone pushed it over 4000 RPM yet?

I have a "friend" that pulled out his subdivison last night and gave his new 07 G35 a little gas and before he realized it hit 5000 RPM with 150 miles on the Odometer. It's very easy to do without even realizing it, especially if you've got the stereo going and don't hear the motor reving.
I wonder if my "friend" ***'d the engine... His commute is stop and go which should be good (no driving at same speed for long distances).

I have a hard time believing anyone hasn't bumped it beyond 4K RPM. The automatic transmission tends to force you to.
Well bear in mind, while these aren't AMG death-tested engines, they are redlined during factory testing and AFAIK, "break-in" is almost as much for getting new drivers acclimated to the new car as it is for letting the engine come into its prime.
Ask rental car compaines if they tell renters to take it easy on their new rentals.
Then ask the renters if they would listen.

Just a thought : )
i wouldnt worry too much about it... manufatcurer's do brake their vehicles in before shipping out... if they didnt so many cars would be ruined from test drives and owners not braking their cars in
