my honest opinion, i haven't sold any cars below a certain profit restriction unless i had a few of them.
Not sure I understand your comment. On one hand you say there is a shortage of nav/tech G's, so the price should be higher (supply & demand). On the other you say "i haven't sold any cars below a certain profit restriction unless i had a few of them" What does that mean?

I think what he's trying to say is it's like soup du jour. It seems to me that with car sales, the deal you can get has to do with what's going on at that instant. With my Nissan, way back when in 98, they took nearly 7 grand off of list (that was severely inflated, I still have the sticker and it was over 29k) for a brand-new Maxima. The guy told me I was way into his holdback. I remember not knowing what that meant at the time. When I told an officemate about my deal, he went to the dealership immediately (4 days after I purchased) and they wouldn't even come close.

I'm pretty willing to bet that the typical car dealership does not get into running supply/demand models. One thing they do deal with indirectly is the elasticity of demand. Once it becomes inelastic is when the consumer gets ready to open up the checkbook. That was clearly demonstrated by purchases made before the new G35 was released.

I'm glad I could help DaCurryman. Thanks for defending me. I guess I wasn't lying after all.
