Odd complaint

Has anyone else noticed that to select the next track on a CD(for example going from track 4 to 5) using the steering wheel controls you have to press down? and to go back you have to press up... seems backwards. Yet to accelerate with cruise control on, your press up and to slow down you press down(on the other side of the steering wheel using the same style button). The same button that does the track selection on the steering wheel also will rotate your radio presets, and it seems to be backwards as well.

When I first read it, it sounded counter-intuitive, but now that I think about it...that's probably how I would do it. I understand you say up since the track number increases, but I say down because you're going down your list of tracks or list of radio presets. Obviously the stereo button should be left/right, but for an up/down, I think I'll like it the way it is.

I've had 6 different cars with stereo controls on the steering wheel and this is the only one that is "backwards" from the others... odd.

I notced this too. It is the opposite of the 03 G35 I had.

The M is the same way, and it's because of the orientation of the nav screen as another poster pointed out above. Subsequent tracks are listed below the current track, so you're pushing down to select the next track. My S4 with navigation works similarly when browsing MP3s, FM/AM/XM stations, etc. It's different from cars that don't have integrated screens like this, but you get used to it very quickly.

ok, except you're not supposed to look at the screen when driving.

I just figured out how to get to that screen, now it makes sense...

what sucks is that you press down to downshift, up to upshift when anyone who has driven a manual will have the opposite intuition. Just today I downshifted to 7K RPM in 1st gear when I meant to upshift to 3rd gear. That sucked so much

Funny thing is that I've never driven a stick, but I know the way the shifts are configured on a stick so I made the same mistake when driving my car home from the dealer yesterday.
