Anyone here have the tech package? Any opinions? I can't find an X w/ the tech package anywhere and now I'm wondering if its worth waiting around for.

I have the tech package and I love it. The back up monitor is amazing and so much better than previous versions. It's incredibly handy when backing into a parking space because it shows the path the car will follow as your turn the steering wheel. I haven't really noticed the preview braking and because of the weather I haven't really played with the intelligent cruise. I'm really not thrown off by the look of the ICC sensor. The adaptive front lighting is pretty cool, I can't get over how well I can see at night. Over all the package was a good value in my opinion.

+1

I'm so glad I opted for it. The AFS is really nice...def helps light your path during turns. The rear-view camera is really clear...easy to see. Makes parking easier...just as Christian said. I used it today to back into a parking spot since I can see the lines and the trajectory of the car. I also used the ICC when driving home from the dealer last Friday. Whenever a car came in front of me, the ICC adjusted accordingly to keep distance. The look of the ICC sensor doesnt bother me in the slightest. I'm def a fan of the Tech package.

Ditto the previous opinions. I LOVE my tech package. Back-up camera is amazingly helpful, ICC is great on the freeway. I was debating about it when I got the car, but now I would DEFINITELY recommend it.

i dont have the tech package, i elected to get my black car without tech or a serengeti sand with tech...wasnt a hard decision haha! That said, I would have liked the backup camera...the turning lights arent THAT big of a deal but it's a nice feature, teh radar cruise control IMO is a waste of money. So basically, for me at least, it's 1k for a couple of nice tweaks...not worth it, and ESP not worth waiting longer to get your G!

I went to SEMA this year in LV and backup cameras are a dime a dozen now. You can have them display in your rearview mirror if you like. The camera can be mounted in a license plate frame.

rocaveli. Your the first person I've heard of with a black Sport. I have one on order and have never seen one, no pictures exist! Would you mind sending me some pictures, or posting some high quality pictures?

I just got '07 with Tech, and already would say that it's worth waiting for. Have them check other dealers. Both the rearview tv and the adaptive lighting are excellent, and I for one do like the the intelligent cruise. My wife's fx has it, and I have used ICC often, as well as the rear view monitor. The rearview monitor on the '07 G is superior to the '05 FX.

I just got back from a trip from Framingham to Worcester - 40-60 mph wind gusts and maybe 10-20 ft. visibility coming off of I-495 onto I-290, and I can honestly say that the AFS does wonders - it actually let me see where the rest of the off-ramp was, instead of me careening off of the side of the road.

So yes, I'd say go with the Tech package. The rest of the features are absolutely wonderful, ICC is a lot more useful than it sounds (you get so used to it, but it obviously is just a luxury addition), and the rear parking camera's very useful.

I think a lot of it comes down to AFS more than anything - and you might want to ask yourself whether you'd rather be raving about the performance of your AFS, or...about the performance of your AWD? : )

I ordered a black/stone Sport AT with Premium/Nav/splashguards...it is on its way, and is expected by mid-December. I will post pics as soon as it arrives. I can't wait!

Hate to bump this up, but I was considering the tech package. Just not sure if it's worth the $1100 for me.

I can't even count on one hand the last time I used cruise control in LA. And on top of that, I'm not sure I want to rely on a computer to slow my car down in LA freeway traffic.

The adaptive lights are cool, but again, for 95% of my driving, which is in LA, it's never that dark anywhere I go where having the lights pave the way makes that much of a difference.

The rear view camera is the most attractive part of the package. However I've been driving a Pacifica for the last 3 years with no problems at all backing up or parking.

So I'm really wondering if the whole thing is really worth it for a "Wow, that's cool" factor, at least when you drive 95% of the time in a city the size of LA.

Any opinions from others with it or especially fellow Angelenos with it? I calculated my lease payments and it would make a difference of about $40/month.

I've almost never used cruise control in the past since it's nearly useless on anything but empty highways, but the ICC is making a convert of me - I just got back from 6 hours driving to Newport Beach,CA and back through LA traffic and I really loved it. I set it at 75 and as long as traffic stayed above 20mph, it kept pace with it and made for a much less exhausting drive for me. I didn't trust it much at first, but once I figured out the best distance settings for the various traffic congestion levels, it worked like a charm (not thatyou can sit back and take a nap....)

The lights are also nice on the curves, the back-up camera is surprisingly helpful. I didn't set out to get the tech package, but I am definitely glad I ended up with it.
