Engine sound

Former 2002 Maxima owner here (it had the VQ35DE motor). though i enjoyed its power/torque, i never thought it to be aurally pleasing, despite some people's opinions to the contrary. how does the 2007 G35's engine compare in terms of its sound?

i personally think the Audi V6 and the bimmer straight six sound much better.

i know the best i can do is go drive one myself, but any opinions are appreciated.

I had a 2k3 Max; the G sounds WAY better. A little growl from the exhaust, which was missing from the Max. The Maxima had some throttle sound at speed, but this has more edge - I like it

I am a former 2000 Maxima SE owner myself (same generation as yours), and there is a world of difference between the engines - both in terms of performance and sound. The 07 growls much louder than the Maxima, even more than my 04' coupe for that matter.

That's what you get with .5L more, dual intake, dual exhaust/pipes...

To be honest, I thought the sound of the 07' sounded less of a typical Japanese engine, and more of German one.

Go test drive one. You'll get your question answered.

Well actually the 02 Maxima like Young had has the previous verison of the 3.5 where as your old car 00 Max had the old 3.0 VQ, they are night and day in performance and sound a little different.
