It's real nice, however for some reason I feel like the power isn't all there after you pass 6,800 or so....that's just me, I'm sure people will have different thoughts.

That's where peak HP is....I have yet to review a dyno showing how much it drops past that...

Okay, did it today in my car for the first time. It's weird, maybe because I didn't nail it off the line (the G will undoubtedly smoke the tires off), there isn't a huge feeling of acceleration. There's no big kick, and everything is smooth - but then when you take your eyes off the tach and glance out the window, everything starts passing by REALLY fast

I guess the torque vs speed doesnt really match up, but when you floor the pedal, it goes, and keeps going. When you look @ the speedometer you really know youre accelerating.

I finally have over 1200mi on my belt. Today, I stepped on the throttle in 2nd gear, and then -- maybe both intakes super kicked in -- but the car LAUNCHED! It tossed my body back to the (ever-so-snugging) seat, and zooooooomed I went. I can't wait to unlock more of the G's potential.

+1, it doesn't feel like it's pulling hard yet the speed sure goes up fast.

wow yeah, that is definitely true. Although there have been PLENTY of times (1st and 2nd gear mostly) where i'v been pushed to the back of my seat with the force of the acceleration.

EDIT: the roar of the engine at redline is absolutely priceless!

I'm willing to admit that I did try full power last night and scared myself silly. Words to the effect of "holy f&##" could be heard coming from me. The power seems to be even across the rev range. Once you get going, the ram air is supposed to provide more HP. I've never seen a taco needle whip to the right so fast. I have the Auto but putting it in DS (Auto Sport Mode) makes one hell of a difference. The only thing that spoilt it was a BMW driver thinking I was racing him. Once I got to 70 MPH on the on ramp, I backed off and he kept going. Shame he didn't see the cop sitting on the new HOV bridge... ok, not really :P

I'd rather see less gradual "swell," and more 'slam' me into my seat from 2500 rpms.

Personally, I think "swell' was simply thought up to give a name to an engine that's a little peaky, not enough low end grunt IMO.

But I guess that's to be expected, as they simply increased HP by allowing the engine to rev higher. The torque curve is pretty much unchanged.

The VQ has tons of low-end.... 200tq from 1300rpm.....
