Doesn't feel like tons to me. Could be the throttle response. Softer breaks, gentler throttle, I think Infiniti wanted to change the feel from my 2003, which had very touchie breaks and a sensitive throttle.

Low end = below 2.5k rpm.
If you have an auto you're rarely in that range for more than a second when accelerating...
