Blue Slate 6MT after Zaino (Z2, Z5, Z7, ZFX, clay bar)

It's funny to see the trend of thread topics. It started out with everyone posting their test drive experiences. Then, people posting about having bought their car. Now, nothing but photos ... and more photos.

Here's my Blue Slate after 6 hours of Zaino yesterday. I only have my uncle's crappy SD110 camera, but you can still see the reflection on the car.

Quick writeup:
1) Washed car with Dawn Ultra -- regular scent. No fruity scents, thank you. Last time I waxed my Mazda6, I had some Palmolive Green Apple. It smelled good, actually.
2) Rinsed thoroughly.
3) Clay barred using a mixed solution of Zaino car wash + water.
4) Rinsed thoroughly.
5) Washed car with Zaino car wash.
6) Rinsed thoroughly.
7) Dried thoroughly using microfiber towel.
8) Applied thin coat of Z2. Can someone tell me the difference between Z2 and Z5? I bought the $80+ kit, but I only used Z2. I mixed half a bottle (the small squeeze bottles that came with the kit) with 4 drops of ZFX.
9) Waited an hour, wiped off Z2 with mf towel.
10) Sprayed on and immediately wiped off Z6 spray.
11) Applied 2nd coat of Z2.
12) Repeat Steps 9 and 10.

I really wanted to do a third coat, but having started at 3pm, finishing at 9pm, I was dead tired.

Looks awesome Goofy!!! Btw, Z2 is polish, while Z5 is a polish that hides minor scratches and swirl marks. From my own personal experience, I really don't think that the Z5 works all that well. I find Z2 on the other hand a great polish and one I will continue to use.

I've heard good and bad things about using dishwasher detergent for washing cars.
I don't know which to believe so I'm going to play it safe and not use it.

I used Z5 this time for all 3 coats and liked the results on my black G. I may add a coat of Z2 on top, but I kind of like that the Z5 doesn;'t give the plastic look of Z2. I think this is more of a problem on black than other colors.

I purchased the Z5 to remove swirl marks on my black 03 G. I found that it didn't remove any swirl marks at all. Then I learned from a fellow member and professional detailer that Z5 simply attempts to hide swirl marks and does not remove them whatsoever.

Nah. It's my uncle's old Mazda MPV. I was reversing a bit too closely. I didn't want to block the drive way in front of me (neighbor's driveway).

Honestly, with a car as sexy as the G35, who wouldn't want to kiss it?

You use it to remove or strip the car of wax. Otherwise use a good car wash soap.
