Heated Seats??? Not really...

So its 30 degress here in the northeast and I have about a 25min ride to work.
Got in the car and put the heated driver seat on high and started my drive.
By the time I got to work (28min door to door) the seat was barely warm.

I know people have made mention of this before in other threads, my question is:

Of those who have complained has anyone taken it back to the dealer and have they offered a fix? Do they recognize this as an issue on some cars.

My dealer is about an hour away and I dont want to take a hike out there if this is just a case of weak seat heaters.

Any answers will help us all out....its going to be a cold winter!!
R

I turned on my heated seats for the first time today and they barely felt warm after 15 minutes, same as others have reported. This really sucks, my old Maxima had seats that were a ton warmer than this.

I tried mine out yesterday and today, and same thing. Barely warm, even on high. The wife will not be happy with this

I'll probably stop by the dealer on Thursday or Friday, but I don't expect much, since it seems that's the norm for these cars. I'll post back when I talk to the dealer.

I always run it at low when I turn it on. If it's on High it feels like my a$$ is on fire. And it worms up in less then a min.

I think this situation goes beyond the dealer and is more of a manufuctaring concern. I know this has been a constant complaint by many.

Well, I'm going in for my first service call Monday and have the same issue as you guys report.

I'm treating the seat heaters as a defect, and will ask it to be addressed as such. I don't believe "weak" seat heaters to the point of being awful are within spec at all, and certainly not within mine as an owner! I understand that sometimes manufacturers just put in weak seat heaters, but I really don't think mine were ever installed correctly in the seat to begin with!

The heated seats in my Sport work really well. Not only do they heat up quickly, they get quite hot on high. To the members that have this heated seat issue, do you have a Sport or non-Sport model? I am just wondering if it is happening to both the Sport seats and non-Sport seats? Just thinking out loud.
