Saved by G!

I just got pulled over doing 80mph in a 55! The state trooper took a look at my 2007 PlatGraph G and asked me how many miles it had. I told him 1,000 and he said it would be a shame to jack the insurance up on a such a nice new car. So he let me off with a warning! What a great early Christmas present. I think it is time to invest in a radar detector!

My old 2003 G35 Sedan saved me too... about 6 months ago.

Two lane rd with heavy 60mph traffic. I'm on the way to work in the morning and notice a trash truck pulling off to the side the rd at someones driveway. Trucks still a little in the rd pulled off at the guys driveway. By now I was coming up on the truck and had slowed to about 20mph. There was a crest of a hill about 75 yards beyond the truck. Enough room for me to whip around the truck with time to get back in my lane before the crest of the hill...

Right as I go to pass him the trash truck suddenly pulls back onto the rd. I see him and swerve into the other lane. So now i'm in the wrong lane coming up to the crest of a hill. There's no shoulder and trees on my left and the trash truck to my right. I slow down to let him get past me so I can get back in my lane. Then he hits the brakes. Guess he's slowing down for the dude to jump back on the back of the trash truck? This road has a lot of 18 wheeler traffic and I'm thinking ok, any second now an 18 wheeler is coming over the crest of this hill at 60 mph and is going to nail me head-on. By now other cars are coming up behind the trash truck and I'm thinking damn, wtf am I going to do. I didn't want to try putting it in reverse and backing up past the truck and the other cars coming up behind it but I hesitated gunning it to try and get around him on the crest of the hill but at this point I really didn't have any choice. I had to get out of the wrong lane. And that was when I really appreciated having a car that would actually move when you dropped the hammer on it. I made it past the truck and whipped back into my lane right as I crested the hill and sure enough coming up the other side of the hill about 1/4 mile away heading my direction was a logging truck. At that moment the sucky gas milage on my 2003 G didn't matter, the fact that it ate front brake pads every 7500 miles didn't matter. All that mattered was it did what it needed to do when I needed it most.

As I drove off the lot with my new G past my old G, it had been raining and right as a drove by her a drop of water ran down her headlight. It was like she knew I was leaving her... I hope she finds a good home

Merry Christmas on not getting a ticket. My first ticket was in my mom's (this is years ago) 1996 ford contour manual trans. 82 in a 45 - in jersey - let's just say i didn't get off as easy. they did ticket me but not for the full amount that they could have.

i just sold my last car privately in prep for my G and i know it went to someone that would take care of it. so, i'm happy my baby is in good hands now.

Somehow, I think you are right. Shane, where are you? Take note of this. This red G is like having a bullseye constantly painted on your back. LOL!

I'd get a radar detector too, but they've been illegal in my Province for about 15 years or so.

LOL, I am typically a pretty conservative driver so hopefully I won't be stopped. Then again, I was driving on the highway coming back from my sister's house over the weekend and looked down at the speedo to find out I was doing 165 kms/hr. I'll definitely have to watch myself.

It is so easy to do that in these cars. Even in my FX! I'll drive down the highway minding my own business in a 70 mph zone, and realize that I'm doing nearly twenty over. I've almost gotten pinched several times just because I wasn't paying attention to my right foot.

Tell me about it.......I couldn't believe that I was going that fast, it felt like I was doing the speed limit. I find the 07 quite a bit quieter in the cabin and also more smooth than my 03.......so maybe that's why it didn't seem like I was going as fast as I was.

Get yourself an Escort Passport 8500 and mount it high on the windshield - behind the blue tint strip - absolutely invisible both from the outside as well as from the side (as when a cop approaches to talk to you - He would have to stick his head in and look up to see it). Hard-wire it and it's totally stealth.

I've actually wondered if the blue tint would lower it's detection range (assuming you mount it high behind the blue tint). Also, would you get enough range from the rear?
