Never noticed any decrease in detection (especially against well known false-positive doors, alarms, etc.). I've had it mounted there for over three years (on the coupe), and another 2 years prior to that on my 2000 Maxima. Saved my a$$ more than I can remember.

Rear detection is great as well - it's high, but not above window range.

As I said, I will snap some shots tonight.

Move to Alberta. Half the maritimes are here already.

Visor Clip Mount

Price: $4.00

For radar detector models:
Passport: 8500 X50, 8500, 7500S, 7500, 6800, 5000, 4600, 4500, 4200
Solo: S2, RD-5110, 5, 4

Please note: Laser detection range is significantly decreased by the darker tinting across the top of most vehicle windshields, so visor mounting is normally not recommended.

For radar detector models:
Passport: 8500 X50, 8500, 7500S, 7500, 6800, 5000, 4600, 4500, 4200
Solo: S2, RD-5110, 5, 4

Speed thanks in advance for posting pictures of the smart cord.

Haha, so true. I hear of friends and co-workers moving to AB almost on a daily basis. I lived in AB for one year myself.

Or drive within reason. 80 in a 55 is begging for a butt-ramming.

Unfortunately, radar detectors do emit RF that can be detected electronically. Ask any Virginia Trooper. Either your area doesn't have the capability, or you've been lucky. In Virginia, having a detector was more expensive than getting the ticket.
