Just curious, what's your new Sedan idling at right after you crank it cold?
When I crank mine it starts off idling at like 2000 RPM which seems kinda high and then as it warms up it slowly drops down to around 1000 RPM about a minute after it's cranked.
Just curious if everyone else idles this high (2000 RPM) when cold.

Yep, same here. Mine idles at cold start at 2k as well.
Just gives me a funny feeling hearing a cold engine iding at 2K. I always used to let my old 03 G engine idle for about 30 seconds to let the oil get circulating good before reving it up like that.

Mine is doing the same. I read another post here about this a while back. Only happens first thing in the morning.Originally Posted by Railgunner

Haven't any of you guys driven an older car with a choke? The revs are increased slightly when cold for a reason, to keep the car from sputtering. My G only stays at 2k for a few seconds then slowly falls down to the regular idle.Originally Posted by 07G

What's the normal RPM for regular idling (once the engine is warm) on the new G?Originally Posted by ChristianN

Thanks Shane. Isn't that too high? The normal idling on my current car is only 700 RPM.Originally Posted by Garnet Canuck

My 03 wasn't like this and no I haven't driven a car with a choke. Originally Posted by ChristianN

Must be nice, though I haven't had a choke for some time I have never had a car this nice before. After the car warms up it revs at about 700-800RPM.Originally Posted by 07G
