Anyone Interested in Intakes?

First off, Hello everyone, I hope to make some friends with the fellow G drivers here.

Ok how many of you Guys would be interested in dual intakes for this car?

If so indicate a price point and how sure you are.... In otherwords tell if you are not sure, interested, or ready to buy.

The design would be simple to keep cost down. I am one of the many car fanatics out there who believe the price for simple boltons is out of this world. 350$ for an intake is crazy. This would be an aluminum 2.5/3.0 with smooth bends and no powder coating or stickers. These would be cut to our length for our cars and would provide a deeper growl, smoother air flow and performance. The parts needed to install it would also come with it.

edit: Also my idea is to preserve the airboxes to keep the ram air concept.

So who is interested?

I'm not too worried about it, at the end of the day the product can be made for a good price, that is worthy of what you gain from it. Stillen doing "tests" or R&D is an excuse to to jack up the price.

i definitely am interested, and i'd love to pay less obviously but...I'm not familiar with the car-tuning scene, this is the first car i want to hookup so i'm a bit wary of putting just anything into it.

I'd love a deeper growl.. I also want a MUCH louder exhaust.

IMO, an intake is the last thing the '07 needs. The OEM unit is so good, any aftermarket will be mainly for appearance. Better money ($200-300)could be spent on tint, springs etc.

If you could improve on the ram air like make the scoop catch more of the rushing air and somehow allow for a cone filter then you'll have something on your hands.

OK here's my idea. I want to preserve the ram air intake, adding cone filters would do a couple negative things. One is would jack up the price since you would need a different end put on the intake, also more supports would have to be added because the airbox would no longer support it, and also MAF mass air flow sensor is on the base of the airbox.

Now while I think the OEM intake is great, with dual TBs I also think the the plastic flex tubes that feed it could be better. The flex in the tubes which is given in the way of ribs in the tube cause turbulance and also add to cut down on noise.

Add in non oiled drop in filters, these intakes, and the car should sound mean as hell.

If I get enough people interested I will make one, then take before and after vids, and from there take any advice that is reasonable that would make the product better.

I was just reading an article saying that the 2007 350z will be released this jan and will have the VQ35HR in it....im wondering the z-tube(s) for a 07 350z can be taken and bolted on to an 07 g? it would probably make a pretty nice sound.

No telling, but I would bet there is a difference, maybe big, maybe small, but a difference.
