I'm in Baltimore and I sure did hear about MASHOC. Was on their website A LOT. Seems like the V8 is getting some bad press regarding the problem with their cams.

The 6 and the 8 were phenomenal engines. Extraordinarily smooth and powerful. But, just like most real good American cars, the car maker decides to can it if it doesn't 1,000,000 a year.

I still would have traded it in for the G!!!
I was in Gaithersburg at the time...I'm related to the founder of MASHOC. Yep, a pretty phonomenal car for what it was. In fact when we tested a '94 5.0L stang against our '90 V6, the SHO out perfomed in every way except "off the line" acceleration. Both had eibach springs and tokico strut/shocks. Ford has had SO many chances with their SVT division. The Contour SVT comes to mind. If Ford had made that car 280 hp and all wheel drive, they wouldn't have been able to keep them on the lot. You're right, Yahama and engines go extremely well together. I look forward to their new one in the ISF 500. But I digress...enough of me hijacking the thread.

It sounds funny, but the Taurus SHO was a pretty badass car with power.

All I'm interested in right now is a high performance air filter. Anyone know if there's anything available yet?

The point has to come to mind that with the new intake(s) on the '07 HR engines, there won't be any air shortage whatsoever at any rpm, thus very much marginalizing any potential increases gained by swapping out filters.
I haven't looked at the new intake yet, but if suspicions prove out, optimum air movement has already been reached with OEM system.

Just a thought guys....If K&N do a test on the intake and come up short on + results, there may not be a K&N made for them.

The VQ-HR has to be close to optimum hp tune, now.
LOL, when it 260 hp version arrived in the '03 Sedan some years ago, pulling more ponies out of it them with add-ons was like pulling hens teeth...

...so I wouldn't get your hopes up too high....

Is it possible that there are any more for the taking?
