My dealer was looking into the problem and came back to ask what kind of cell phone I had to verify that it was on the compatible list (what that has to do with an internal failure I don't know), and if so they were going to change out a memory chip. Haven't heard back from them since last week.

I'll give them a call on Wednesday.

Happy new year everyone.

stupid question

Okay, I lost my voice tags, but can't figure out how to re-record them. I went through the manual and played around with it, but clearly I'm missing something. How do I get back to the recording voice tags option???

I think you go through settings, drill down into phonebook entry, then go into voicetag options.

infiniti.com/bluetooth.... list of compatible phones.

i'm looking into that but my T-mobile MDA kept all phones and phone tags in the test drive car for the past month and a half and no trouble at all.

I also have lost my voice tags twice now. Interested to hear what the dealers say. This sounds like a real problem. I cannot imagine it is a by product of the paired phone as the memory is in the car.

I cant imagine this has anything to do with the phone. If I had no phone I could still enter these manually.

Here's what happened to me. I started entering numbers manually into the phonebook, entered three with voicetags. When I asked for voicetag ONE I noticed it came up "Dialing (number THREE entry in phonebook)". So I went in and checked and somehow, someway, each phonebook entry (1,2,3) was now set to voicetag THREE. Almost as if when I entered the third entry each one had change to THREE.

For what its worth, I lost my voicetags as well.

I recored 10 voicetags the first day I had my car. I just went to use a voicetag
yesterday for the first time since the first day, and they weren't there. All 10 were gone. When I tried to play the voicetag directory all were gone.

So I went to re-record only 3 of the 10 and will see if they stay or go.

As a first step, and hopefully the last step, Infinity replaced the avn unit (main nav computer) in the car in the hopes that solves the voice tag loss. Kind of like giving you an all new elephent when it only needed a new trunk. We will see if this works. Only problem with the proceedure is you loose everything you have stored on the system. Lost are phone numbers, nav tags, radio stations, settings etc. In anticipation of this I hadn't loaded all that much, but!! Hopefully I won't have to go through this again.

Thanks for the heads up Alan. Let us know if that does the trick.

Same here. I don't care about the voice tag anyway. I burned a lot of my audio CDs already.
