Not even my AWD could get me out of this mess. Spent most of the day shoveling and now it's safe in the garage.

About three feet where I am. Notice the Hummer in the background. That was a neighbor who drove around to pack down our street. We probaby won't get any snowplows for a couple of days.

Exactly salt in snow that gets stuck to the car during the day, and then melts off during the night, if you garage your car, can rust and deteriorate surface, paint, and even wiring.

Completely agree, however that wasn't his question......or at least it wasn't my interpretation. I just assumed he was makingn reference to all the snow on douglas's car in the picture.

How do you guys (Canadians in particular) clean/wash when you have snow on the ground constantly and freezing temps? My FX is still dirty from the snow two weeks ago and it hasn't really gotten warm enough to even rinse it off! I know it sounds like a bonehead question but I'm willing to get laughed at if I at least get a sufficient answer.

The last few years I have gone to a touchless car wash. I always went to the same one because it does any any rails that will touch my wheels. Last year we had a very mild winter and I was able to wash my car myself in my driveway. It has been mild so far again this year so again I have been able to do it myself.

This year, I bought QEW. I haven't needed to use it yet, but am looking forward to trying it out. You should check it out Alex as this will allow you to wash your car with a couple buckets of water and no rinsing. You would need to go to a DIY carwash first to spray off all of the salt and sand.

Luckily that's all fresh snow on the car. No salt or sand.
