Quote: but lexus is the most realiable car under porsche, and lets face it, has a nicer interior with alot of nice little features like cooled seats, all windows roll down with one touch, besides the back seat for monkeys the car is nicer

Maybe in your opinion, but quality aside, the new G35 has a better interior in most ways than the IS (and it's quality is now as good as the 3 series).

If we really want to compare apples with apples, you'd need to take $14,000 (the cost of a decked out G vs a similarly spec'd 335) and put that cash into aftermarket upgrades to the G. Then you could compare... and I'd bet the G would beat the pants off the BMW. Point is, on the surface they are in the same market segment but in real world, I think they appeal to different clientele.

And when it was said the BMW is 'sterile' - I agree. But that goes to my point of a different clientele. I think a Porsche is also sterile and would never in my life buy one. If I am going to pay that much for a car, I want it to look like I did inside. But, BMW / Porsche / etc. don't care about that so much. They are driver's cars. Infiniti is a wanna-be driver's car... and that is fine with me. I look for the prefect balance of luxury on the inside, technological bells and whistles, and great performance. I don't need the fastest kid on the block... I need the most technologically advanced kid on the block.

Test drove the 335i sedan, very dissapointing for the price. Is350 is too small and overpriced.

I wonder if you can make the G35 lighter by filling up the trunk with Helium.....

what was so dissapointing about the 335?
Why is IS350 overpriced? What other car can u get with similar accelaration, interior and quality?

Where before, you're only giving up interior and you gain in price, and performance. Now, you're giving up on interior and performance. So the only advantage is $5k. But I'm sure if the IS350 uses cheaper materials like the G, they can probably sell for less as well.

I'm sorry but the 07 Sedan's materials are not cheap, don't know where you're getting that idea.

+1. You might be able to say that about the 1st gen G35s, but the 07 G definitely doesn't use cheap materials.

Cheaper than the Lexus and Benz and Audi for sure. Still too many hard plastic throughout the car.

u are telling me u had more fun test driving the G35 than the 335?
Dude i test drove the 07 G sedan journey and i was bored out of my mind.
The only thing that i liked more than my current one was the interior.

On the other hand i drove the regular E90 325 (non sport package) and it was very fun car to drive.

Quote: Yea for everyone praising the new G35...take a step back and consider this... The competition for the G35 is the 335i and the IS350...

Now the 335i is without a doubt quicker, and the IS350 ties it in displacement and horsepower but produces more torque...so how relatively impressive is the G35?

Anyway, I'm just trying to give a perspective, I knew full well what the IS350 and the 335i offered and I LOVE my G35. but if you're going to get into numbers and speeds and what not, the G35 is not the runaway victor and its not that fast.
Are you serious? How much is the IS? How much is the BMW?

G35 = 306 bhp at 6800 rpm and 268 lb.-ft. of torque (Sport AT 3,538 lb)

IS350 = 306 bhp and 277 lb.-ft. of torque (3,527lb)

Not that big of a difference. Gear ratios hurt us horribly.
