its true, the G35 doesnt seem so impressive in terms of performance now (compared to lat gen), but at least it is still great bang for bucks

Now the 335i is without a doubt quicker, and the IS350 ties it in displacement and horsepower but produces more torque...so how relatively impressive is the G35?

Anyway, I'm just trying to give a perspective, I knew full well what the IS350 and the 335i offered and I LOVE my G35. but if you're going to get into numbers and speeds and what not, the G35 is not the runaway victor and its not that fast.
The sedan may seem somewhat pale in comparison to the 335i and IS350. Enter the coupe in April '07. I think conversations about the G vs. the 335i/IS350 will change.

For some reason every time, every thread, there always has to be a negative or critical post

The 07 G35 sedan is fast, as are the IS350 & 335i....leave it there.

IS350 isn't really much quicker than the G, and the fact that it has a little more torque does not warrant the price difference between the fully loaded G and fully loaded IS350.

Ah where to start, I'm not a fanboy by any means, but you can't just look at a car and go " well one makes the much HP and Tq so it mus tbe faster" it doesn't work that way. Peak Power is now all that matters, take into account what the engine in making most of the time.

The new coupe will have to bring a lot more to the table to compete with the 335i. It's gonna need that rumored 3.7 with at least 330hp to stay in the game. The new 335i is very underrated and puts out about 320hp est. or about 280hp/290tq to the wheels! Not to mention extreme modability with the turbos. My Bro's getting the new Xede inline computer for his 335i and someone with an auto posted 330hp/378tq with the same upgrade. The big kick in the @ss is that the tuning tends to add 1-2 mpg to the fuel economy wich is already better than G.

I'm not quite ready for a new car but I hope a newer bigger engine see's it way into the new G when I'm ready.

but lexus is the most realiable car under porsche, and lets face it, has a nicer interior with alot of nice little features like cooled seats, all windows roll down with one touch, besides the back seat for monkeys the car is nicer

For me I bought a sedan not a sports car. I think the numbers are great for the market the G is in. The 335 maybe faster but again more money so bang for the buck the G wins. Also to me the 335 was just to sterile. If I wanted to beat the 335 I'll take the G and add a super charger, turbo etc.

I would also buy the coupe not the sedan. I'm very impressed with the new G's performace and handling which meets all my needs and then some.

All windows roll up and down with one touch on my 07 as well, only thing this car is missing is the cooled seats. I'm not about to pay an extra $5-6k for an is350 just because it has cooled seats... the lack of space in the rear of the IS350 nullifies the cooled seats IMO. I'll take my spacious G any time :-)

Honestly, considering the price difference, if the 335i weren't better it would be a joke.
