What car did you come FROM? Upgrade / Downgrade?

having a car with that much power as a daily driver requires maintenance everyday, and a new $1500-2000 clutch every other month. It wasnt that bad when I was working at a performance shop, but I started going to college and couldn't keep up. I needed something reliable.

Last car was an 05 Volvo S60 R AWD 6pd
That was a fun car. Very efficient, 300hp made it fast and the 6 speed was pretty smooth. Front seats very comfortable and the AWD made it stick like glue to corners. The downside was after 5 years the interior was showing wear: The seat bolster cracked, the leather dash cover was coming loose, and the aluminum trim on the door was showing dings from the seat belt slapping it when unbuckling it. The car was front heavy and liked to plow into corners and the back seat was really small. Paid high $30k's for it at discount. Bought a 2008 G35 AT sport pkg with 30k miles for $25k. Lot of car for the money. Beautiful to look at in slate blue and my first drive sold me. Sportier feel, the body is more rigid, and the engine has smooth power with no turbo peakiness like the volvo's 2.5L 5 cyl. engine. Back seat has more room, and I like the blue tooth and the ipod connectivity better than the volvo version. I've changed the oil and air filters on the G and I was impressed with the quality of the underside components and the ease of accessing the oil drain and filter (except the bottom pan...wtf nissan, 17 screws? I'm tempted to cut an access panel). Altogether I'm impressed with everything on the G except maybe no folding rear seat and I get about 4 mpg less that the R.

Agree about the no folding rear seats. I never understood why the sportier and less family friendly coupe gets folding rear seats while the supposedly more utilitarian sedan doesn't.

80 Ford Escort - Inherited from Mom, engine blew on the way to the airport - almost missed my flight
85 Ford Tempo GLX - Smashed it up in 1989
89 Ford Thunderbird (first new car) - Loved this car, wish I still owned it - it was pristine when I sold it in 1999
99 Chrysler Intrepid - Not sure why I even owned this car
06 Nissan Altima 2.5 - Nice car
07 G35x Journey Premium - Definitely an upgrade first car I have 'loved' since the T-Bird
