A fairly short video of the new G as a finalist of the COTY.

The only thing that I didn't quite agree with was when they said it was far too similiar to the previous generation. As an owner of a first generation and now an 07, I don't think they are that similiar at all......but maybe that's just me.

. I don't know how more outstanding it could get from the 1st gen. Maybe in the transmission deparment?

I actually never particularly cared for the first generation G35. I thought it was ok, but it didn't particularly impress me. Had Infiniti not restyled the G35, I'd almost certainly be purchasing an IS350, or possibly looking at a BMW 325.
But, I think the new 07 model looks great! I haven't test driven the car yet (I did sit in it at the dealer. . . I'm 6'6" and needed to make sure I fit in it), but I'm 99% certain this is the car I'm going to buy in the new year. I'm basing my decision on the style, performance, and especially value.
I had an 06 loaner for about 2 hours yesterday and that's all the time I needed to know how much they changed the car, particularly with respect to the interior. With no offense to 1st Gen owners...the difference between the two is undeniable and an improvement for the better.

To be quite honest with you, I didnt like the previous sedans at all.
Seeing how great the new sedan is, it would definately be my car if I were looking for a sedan.

It's not surprising that it made it to the finals tho.....
Good video, Shane. The new G is still a big feather in Nissan's cap.

After 4 and a half years in the 1st gen G35 I was tired of the interior and to a lesser degree the exterior. Driving the car was still lots of fun though.
I have had people mistakenly comment on the 2007 G as a 1st Gen however I do think it is just simply someone looking at the name of the car not really "looking" at the car.
The new 2007 is a step up in every direction. I think time will prove the new G is better, than the Magazine editors are saying, with increased sales and positive praise from consumers. I'm not sure what MT was looking for but I didn't find superiority, significance and value in the other usual models when shopping for a new car this spring. That's why I ordered my 2007 G35 in May!
