Memory Settings
Memory Settings
I have run into a small issue that I hope someone can shed some light on. I programmed the driver seat settings for me and my wife. However, everytime I unlock the car, the driver seat goes back to my wife's setting. I followed the manual by reprogramming my settings and then pressing the unlock button on the key. However, it still goes back to my wife's setting everytime I unlock the car. It is not a big deal but a pain in the *** to hit the button to get the seat to go back to my position. TIA for your assistance.

So as I understand it you've already tried synching your key fob with your settings , correct? Is your other key fob synched with your wife's settings as well?
if i'm not mistaken, the memory settings follow the key. You are given 2 keys, thus 2 profiles. The initial settings is assumed/set for the primary key(setting #1) by default.
So what you want to do is take the other key, personalize your settings and use it for yourself only.
However, you cant have 2 keys in the car when setting the profiles. It wouldn't know which to associate with and i think it defaults to overriding profile #1
Hope I haven't repeated what is in the manual, and offended you.(I haven't even flipped through mine yet).

If I recall correctly, you need to manually press and hold the unlock button on your key fob after you've pressed the memory button ("1" or "2"), so I can't imagine the car getting confused with your wife's key fob even if hers is within the vicinity. Like Gao said, just have one fob inside the car at a time first to eliminate any mix ups.
everyone's correct. i show this all day long and people still get somewhat confused.
here's what you do....
the key you have is set to your wife's settings.
if you have the other set of keys you can program to your own settings straight to the extra keys.
adjust the seat, steering wheel, and mirrors so they all will syncronize.
hold down set for 2 seconds and let go
then hold down [1] or [2] for another 2 seconds
then press [unlock] on teh keyfob just once and it'll haev the [1] or [2] blink 10 times.
that means you set the seat positioning to go back to those settings every time you walk up w/ those keys.

Can you tell me how to reset it and then start from scratch? Both the keys go to my wife's setting though she has only driven the car once. Not sure how both keys have her settings saved.

OK - I give up....
I've spent minutes here and there since I bought the car back in Feb to sync the Intelligent keys to the appropriate 1 or 2 seat setting.
Well tonight I've spent well over an hour going in and out of the garage alternating keyfobs while leaving the other on the kitchen counter.
The seat moves to the last used setting no matter what I do and ignores whichever keyFOB I'm using.
I've tried:
'Set' button > 1 second
'1' (or '2') for 1 second and release
Hit unlock on FOB while LED is lit for the 5 second period
'Set' button > 1 second
'1' (or '2') but for > 1 second AND
Hit unlock on FOB while LED is lit for the 5 second period WHILE still holding the 1 (or 2) button
Either one of these will blink the associated (1 or 2) memory button 10 times.
Is there some step I'm missing, it appears the keys are linked with the buttons (by using the LED flashes as verification) but is it as simple as me missing the step to turn the system on to use it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated !
