I noticed the same things a few weeks ago while driving to work in the morning, a construction worker dropped a sign and just walked out into oncoming traffic to pick it up! The brakes work very well. I also found out that an apple on the passenger seat becomes a missle .

Brake Assist baby!

I had a similar encounter a few days ago. I went from 45mph to 0 in about 15ft.

I couldn't believe it. I just sat there for a few seconds gawking at the steering column

Yeah!!!! - the brakes on our car kick so much a$$. It saved me a few times when a car all of a sudden brakes on the freeway or cuts me off to take the exit. I did remember being in the dealership when the salesperson was showing me the brake rotors and pads - then says "now look at the brakes on the FX35 and the M45" haha huge difference

Yup. I've only hard stopped once, but I was floored by the cars ability to stop seeming on a dime. You can never have too much horsepower or braking power and this car has it both by the truckload.
