Question about Nav
Question about Nav
I have check all of the threads on it and can't find an answer. I know that if you are in motion, the navi partially grays the screen and you can't use some things. My question is, can you use voice commands to work those grayed out options? Or do you have to stop to be able to change them at all? I forgot to ask my dealer when we were on the test drive about that. Thank you.

Anyways, not sure if you have seen it or not, but there is a thread that is stickied at the top of the page that has a voice command cheat sheet. I find it very handy, I've printed out a copy and keep it in my car.

Actually, I find that you can voice command the activities, but you can't voice command the scroll. For example, if you voice command to find the nearest restaurants, the screen will only allow you to see the 5 closest. You need to be stopped to scroll to see the rest. Makes it hard to pick a good rest stop in route.

I believe the Lexus/Toyota NAV is even more limiting, though. If I recall correctly, it will only let you find emergency (e.g. hospitals, police) and car dealerships while driving. It won't let you find other points of interest (e.g. restaurants) while driving.

It'd be cool if the Navi was able to be unlocked if there was a passenger in the car. Kinda like how the airbag gets disabled in some cars when there is no one in the front seat.
