This weekend I'm also getting the tint installed, rear fenders and door edges covered with 3M.

Still no splash guards available though. My local dealer doesn't even have a par t# for them
I'm tempted to get some of the trunk covered as well since it will get alot of abuse from opening/closing. Does anyone else notice the trunk being really heavy? I liked how my other trunk would "fly" open and would be easy to close with just a light push down. Here I have to slam it!

How does the film look? can you see it? I am interested but I'm worried it might look bad on the car. Got a black car

IMO, the good thing about black is you probably will not notice if the film yellows slightly over time. The bad thing is you WILL see the clear bra if the car is dusty. However, if the car is kept clean, you shouldn't see the clear bra unless you are looking for it.

The front of the rear tire is covered from the factory like you said, but I see nothing on my door edges. Didn't you say our car came from Santa Monica too? Maybe if I didn't get there before the car did from the ship, I would of gotten door edge protection as well.

Terry, can you take a picture of your door edge?

Unfortunatly, I'm ALWAYS looking for it. In the sun, the line is fairly visable at some angles. But it's nice to know that I'll be protected from rocks. I'm ashame to say it, but I've been checking out alot of 1st gen Gs front ends in the parking lot

Yeah, I noticed a protective plastic square piece in front of my rear tires as well. I thought the dealership forgot to take it off, but my buddy's car has the same thing. I wonder what that's supposed to protect.

Ya it is in a odd place. I actually still have a piece of plastic underneath the front bumper. I'm still debating if I want to take it off.

I have another car with ground effects on it and believe it or not, that part of the car in front of the rear tire DOES get sandblasted. I'd suggest leaving it on.
