possible 07' g35 sedan purchase

Hi guys I really need your advice!

I am thinking of purchasing a 07' G35 sports sedan with "premium package" and "navigation system" cause I think it offers alot for its price.

Here are my questions for the people who purchased the 07' model:

1. How much did you pay for it / or how much did you manage to bargain?

2. I believe the sports sedan only comes in "rear wheel drive" - I live in Boston so I am little worried about driving during winter. Does this car handle well during winter season even though its a RWD?

3. Did you have any problems so far with this car?

thanks!

1. I'll let others answer this (the price I paid is not really comparable).

2. You may want to consider the G35X. It is 4WD.

3. No problems yet in about 2000 miles ... it's just hard to find them configured exactly the way you like.

Its not 4WD, its AWD. Difference? No transfer case and only 50% max power can be transfered to the front wheels. 4wd>Awd, but Awd is all most need.

Wrong. 4WD>AWD in adverse weather or off-road conditions only. AWD>4WD for any type of performance application, period.

from what i learn 1.5 years after i purchased my g35x 05 is that the x only goes into effect if u ever turn it on at speeds between 0-12mph
anything higher then that its basicaly the same as sports, the ATTESea system kiks in when driving beyong 12 mph.

so every G is basicly the same xcept for the x at low speed.

i say go for sport 4get the x.

You do not need to "turn on" the AWD, it engages as needed based on a loss of traction at the rear wheel. You can "lock it in" up to 12MPH with the snow button, but I believe it will still engage at higher speed when a loss of traction is detected. What is unique about this car(and other new AWD cars) is that I believe it does this electronically, as where older AWD systems used a viscous coupler to detect the loss of traction(in the form of inertia), meaning a mechanical system.

The G35X is not the same as the sport in terms of handling, you can visually see the X sits higher then the sport.

1. I paid retail, but I purchased mine in early Nov. when they first came out. They were fair with my trade in, but not generous.

2. I have an X with Nokian all weather tires on it and it seems superb in snow, but we've had very little snow to speak of so I can't say for sure just how good this car is in winter conditions.

3. 3400+ miles so far and not a single problem or rattle.

Put snow tires on it for the winter and you'll be fine. I live in the Boston area as well.

You should check out this thread regarding prices:

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115532

I bought mine in mid-Nov (about 2 weeks after the car came out) and paid $400 above invoice.
