Peculiar resonance in the clutch
Peculiar resonance in the clutch
Has anyone else noticed an odd vibration/resonance that is related to the RPM when you depress the clutch. For me above 3250 rpm I can feel/hear the vibration through the clutch when I depress it.
This is my 5th car with stick and I've never experienced this before.
Hoping this is just an odd quirk with the G's transmission and not a bad throw out bearing or what not.
Thanks for the replies in advance,
Chris

It's very noticeable for me, too. I am getting used to it, just like how I'm used to the shifter's rigorous vibrations and the "click" you head each time you depress the clutch pedal. It must be normal if we all experience similar things. My car had 12 miles on it at delivery, and I'm sure the dealership would've been concerned if it were a defect.
Hmm, I searched for it before I posted but mostly just came up with a vibrating shifter, not clutch. I'm not annoyed by the whole sensation, I just wanted to know that I wasn't the only one.
Feel free to post in here if you still have the vibration though.
Thanks,
Chris

It's common for pre '07 models I can confirm, as well as many others here. I test drove 2 different G35 coupes and both had clutch "shudder" or "shimmying".
It was a very noticeable vibration felt through the clutch pedal. I can't say I cared for it either.
