speed sensing wipers

I set the speed sensing wipers on in the menu, but when it's raining today, i don't see how the wipers go faster when i'm driving like 80 on the highway... how do they work actually?

That's a new one for me. As far as I know we don't have speed sensing wipers.

That's correct, the G doesn't have speed sensing wipers.

I was wrong, apparantly it does, I just checked my online manual and it does talk about it on Page 2-33.

I will have to check it out, heck you learn something new about the car everyday

Its under the Comfort/Convenience menu, Speed setting to on. Believe you set the wipers in the 'interval' setting somewhere and it changes it from there although I have not tried it yet

Hey Shane it's like I said this car is so full of features some are easy to miss.
I could have sworn we didn't have it until now. I have read the manual from cover to cover as you probably have and we missed it .

Now, if only it had actual RAIN sensing wipers...

Alas, it can't have everything.

hmm sensing wipers eh

my dads lexus 470 has it
its really kool and useful

as i remember, it work like this
it doesn't work by how fast ur going
it turns on if it senses the slightest rain, very sensitive on my dads lexus470
if the rain increases like more rain hits the windshield, the thing goes crazy and increase the speed enough to wipe away the rain and get full visibility.

very kool stuff

I haven't experimented, but I thought the "speed sensing" wipers just slowed down when you were stopped and then sped back up when you started moving again. They are not "rain sensing".

I'm not sure on your 07 g35's but on my SL 550 I just put it in the first notch position and just leave it there. If it doesn't rain, it doesn't wipe, and when it does rain it wipes faster. If i want to force it to wipe at a certain speed then i just turn the handle to the other 2 positions. There's 3 on the SL, 1 is the typical intermit (which is the auto setting) then there's the mid and high.

I believe the rain sensor is on my windshield right in front of the rear view mirror... it's either that or the black plastic thing in the grills on top of my hood, i know one is for automatic headlight (day/night) sensor and the other is for rain. hehe..

The 07 camry hybrid i bought for my g/f Anna doesn't have this feature and it's priced about the same.. argh.. i wish they had this feature haha, it's so convinent

The manual only mentions speed-sensing wipers, not rain sensing-wipers.

The '07 G35 does NOT have "rain" sensing wipers... (unfortunately). On most cars, the sensor (eye) is in the rear view mirror where it attaches to the windshield.

This is starting to become such a common feature in even near-luxury vehicles these days. I must say I am rather disappointed we don't have it. There are two features the G35 doesn't have that most cars of this class do have the option for - rain sensing wipers and parking assist sensors. I think both should have been included in the technology package. But, other than that, this thing has every bell and whistle I could ever want (in a car this class).
