ah yes the canadian version packs the tech together with the nav, i bought the US version where it is seperate....I think like unde 2K for the nav and backup is a pretty good deal. the AFS and the cruise is useless.....esp when you read it there are so many limitations..

Every car I've seen with rain sensing wipes has been annoying.

They either:
1. Turn on full blast during a drizzle.
2. Don't go fast enough in a downpour.
3. Both.

Our car also has speed sensitive volume control (default option for that is "off"). Good news for guys who like driving with their windows down though.

so to use the speed sensing feature, you have to have the wipers on at the intermittent level right?

I posted this awhile ago in the tech thread but didn't get much of a response . I'll try timing and see if there is a difference as posted by treacherous. I thought the speed sensing wipers were that the wipers would whip across the windshield faster at higher speeds (noted this on friends bimmer).

No rain sensing only speed sensing. If you go faster wipes more.

Try this:

1. Make sure the Speed Senses Wiper is "ON"
2. Make sure your Int. timer is set to the LONGEST. (Which means the default settings)
3. Turn the wiper to Int. and drive away.
4. Then adjust the delay you want.
5. Now the delay will be set along with your speed.
6. If you stop your car, your wiper should stop or take the longest delay without changing the settings.

These are the information gave by my dealer....

If i want to force it to wipe at a certain speed then i just turn the handle to the other 2 positions. There's 3 on the SL, 1 is the typical intermit (which is the auto setting) then there's the mid and high.

I believe the rain sensor is on my windshield right in front of the rear view mirror... it's either that or the black plastic thing in the grills on top of my hood, i know one is for automatic headlight (day/night) sensor and the other is for rain. hehe..

The 07 camry hybrid i bought for my g/f Anna doesn't have this feature and it's priced about the same.. argh.. i wish they had this feature haha, it's so convinent

The BU camera is part of the NAV package for '08, the IC is still connected to the Tech package. Ha, I wish our G's had a front view camera so we could see parking barriers or curbs, I always wind up 3 feet from the thing! The camera with the EX sounds like it would be good for that!

Hehe I agree but after being on so many forums, there's always a few in the bunch who love feeling they've reached the pinnacle of material success. No matter where you go, there will always be someone who loves talking about how much better their <fill in the blank> is and how they can afford <fill in the blank>. Blah blah. Just read the "what is your job" or "what did you upgrade/downgrade from" threads. LOL you'll see a bunch in there. Who cares? Humility and gratefulness will always speak more about a person than their possessions.

One day i found out i had the speed sensing wipers by just driving in the rain. At a stop the wipers would wipe every 9 seconds. When i reached 40 mph it would do it every 5 seconds. When i wanted to show my friends that i had them, it was raining again but a lot harder. However, I was going 40 again but this time the wipers were going on every 3 seconds. Does this mean that my car has some sort of rain sensor that because it was raining harder, the wipers wiped a little faster?

Same here...
