bmw 335 would dyno close to 300whp on dynapack. Don't mix two different dynos together.

Stated before, but the 335 would test higher on a Dynapack, and real world numbers consistently bear that out.

Vishnu's Xede mod (93 octane maps, piggyback ECU only, no intake or exhaust mods) nets 330 rwhp, 375 rwtq.

Vishnu's Stage 1 Xede (w/ exhaust) on 93 octane is now up to 350+ hp and 405 lb/ft of torque on 93 octane.

On a Dynapack, that would translate to somewhere around 375 hp and 430 lb/ft of torque.

The 07 G35 on a Dynojet would probably be around 260 wheel hp - similar to what IS350s pull on a Dynojet.

OK Tony, you guys make a great product but this quote made me laugh.

Here's $10k in bolt-ons on a non-rev up motor! Take your pick of 4.8psi or 8psi. You can do a sedan vs. sedan test. But it does have a MD 5/16 spacer on it.

LOL Excellent dyno numbers ttrank! But FI doesn't count for bolt ons.

Your dyno curve looks like a ton of fun to drive.

I just had to throw that in.

Don't get me wrong you guys are such a valuable asset to the G/Z community and we appreciate everything you do.

So what's up for the HR?!?

What compression are the pistons in the VQHR and the IS350 engine?

As I recall, the IS250 is 12:1 and the IS350 is a bit less - I'm thinking 11.8:1 or something similar. My understanding is the higher numbers are associated with the direct injection - which allegedly yields some respectable fuel mileage. I'm sure someone will step in with the '07 G35 compression ratio.

I'll be curious to see what the typical Dynojet numbers will be for the HR with the 5AT since that is what I'm more familiar with. I'm assuming about 250whp. Regardless, those are very nice numbers. I just wish the 07 hadn't gained about 200-230lbs (~3,600lbs) over my 03's (~3370lbs) curb weight. My question is where in the world did all this additional weight come from?

Dynojet numbers should be in the 260-265rwhp range , 250 is low.

PS - Comparative plots against the IS350 soon to come!
I'm sure he meant to say $10,000 in N/A bolt-ons. those are pretty good numbers indeed, but it still falls short of the 335i.

Yes, the 335i are monsters, but it's kind of a shame that BMW had to resort to a TT setup to make the hp to beat the competition. Having the stronger N/A motor from the factory was what made BMW engines so highly regarded as an engineering marvel.

Just an FYI Dave, my 5AT Sport comes in at 3538lbs, not 3600lbs. The 6MT weighs 3532lbs, the Journey is 3508lbs, and the G35 is 3497lbs. Regardless, the 07 is definitely a little heavier than the previous MYs. I wonder if the new VQ35HR adds some extra weight over the VQ35DE? Also, with all the new technology offered in the new G (more speakers, hard drive, LCD screen....etc), that is bound to add extra weight as well.

I agree.. there is lots of complexity under the hood.. They gave it descent HP, then they only gave it an open diff. No posi for the 335i.. don't want to over-throw the M3

Hey guys,

I just finished dynoing a 2007 HR MT! The curve is almost identical but with about 2-3 more ponies up top. Final results came in at 289.5 HP!

I'll get it posted here tonight with more comparisons too.
