Question for those with factory spoilers

One poster said that new G's with a factory spoiler have the 3rd brake light on the back shelf disconnected from the factory?

Just curious, is it like this on all the G's with factory spoilers?

Mine is. I never checked but I believe the deck light is ready to go w/ a bulb if you wanted to plug it in and have both the spoiler and the rear deck light together.

With my factory spoiler, both rear brake lights were connected. I've since disconnected the brake light in the rear window.

Yup my Brakelight In the back Window is there, But is Not Connected. I did not want all light's to work anyway, So it was a Plus for me to have just the Winglight Working

I asked about that when I checked out an 07 with spoiler at the dealership. I was told by a dealer that you can only have one center brake light in CA so their cars with lit spoilers have the window disconnected.

I noticed that if a factory spoiler is installed, the interior 3rd brake lights are white/clear leds. If no spoiler is installed, the interior 3rd brake lights are red. By since I ordred my car with a spoiler, the interior 3rd brake light is disconnected.

If it's factory installed (i.e. custom ordered with the spoiler) you won't have a brake light in the window. That's at least the case with previous coupe models. People who added spoilers later had to disconnect the brake light in the window, or removed it altogether.

From what I have seen with the 07 sedans SPEED, is even if it comes with the factory installed OEM spoiler it always has the brake light in the window and it seems to be a Dealer specific thing whether it is unplugged or not.

Yeah, I have a factory ordered spoiler and mine still came with the brake light in the window. It was hooked up as well until I disconnected it yesterday.......thanks to some help from the Service Manual.
