I hear the M shows the PSI on the Nav screen. not sure why they configured it differently on the G35.
The FX is the same way.

Oh and to keep on topic. I wish it was able to give contant readouts of tire pressure and display to the screen, but oh well.

Would you guys believe that thing is $113 each from dealer! Guess I'll be moving mine to the new wheels instead of buying new ones.

I've heard that they measure rotational speeds as well, and check for quick changes in pressure, such as a blowout.

They're just a pressure sensor with an RF transmitter built in, and all they do is transmit actual pressure data to the BCM.
The BCM just compares the actual pressures to the preset minimum, it doesn't care why the pressure is lower or how fast it dropped.

I'm going to keep the sensors on my 18" rims for summer. My 17" winter rims I opted to go without the sensors. It's alot cheaper, and not too annoying. The little light blinks for about a minute after the car starts, then just stays on.

Tire Sensor

My light came on today and I checked all the tires. The lowest was 30 lbs. All the others were 33 plus. After putting air in the low one, the indicator did not go out. Maybe it's the cold. Was 17 this morning.

Funny same problem here. My light came on over a week ago and I checked all my tires and they were fine. Sounds like a possible problem with this system. Been cold here as well. Will have to take it to the dealers next week.

I'm going to the dealer next week for the 3750 mile service. If it's still on then, I'll bring it to their attention.

Same thing happened to me - had to take it to the dealer and they re-registered all of the sensors (under warranty of course).

I checked the pressure in all of the tires, including the spare (don't actually think that one has a sensor), and it didn't go off.

Dealer did it in about 45 minute, using the new Consult III tool.

My TPMS failed on DAY 2 of ownership. I had the dealer recalibrate it and change out the one odd tire on my brand new car. See my thread for details.

The cars been great since then except for losing my voicetags in my phonebook as others have complained about.

Sorry to post this in the 2007 section since I have a 2004, but my service manual reads the same way. (that the ECM must be calibrated even for tire rotations)

I've rotated my tires three times now and never had a problem. I looked at the service manual today and I believe you can remove the connector labeled M91 "tire pressure warning check connector" to keep the light from coming on. ('07 manual shows a similar item labeled as "switch" M23 connector.)

I have been studying this because I don't want to spend the money on sensors for summer wheels.

Any thoughts?

Does any one know if there is a fuse that can be pulled to just turn it off? I lowered my pressure to 36PSI when I realized the dealership left them at 42 and even though I'm above the 33PSI suggested on the door sill sticker the warning light has been on ever since.
Thx, Jeff
